Cole to return to ICC

To serve as interim vice president of economic and community services

Former Itawamba Community College President Dr. David C. Cole will serve as the College’s interim vice president of Economic and Community Services, beginning May 3, according to an announcement by President Mike Eaton.

PTK honors Hukle, McCormick

2015 Distinguished Advisors

Heather McCormick of Fulton, mathematics instructor, and Dr. Delena Hukle of Mantachie, information systems technology instructor, have been selected as Phi Theta Kappa's 2015 Distinguished Advisors.

The award recognizes advisors who have served at least four years and have made significant contributions to the growth of the individual chapter members, served as the chapter's campus advocate and encouraged the chapter to be involved on the local, regional and/or international level of the organization.

McCormick and Hukle were two of 30 advisors selected by a panel of judges from more than 75 nominees internationally. They were honored, Apr. 17 and 18, at PTK's annual convention in San Antonio, Tex.

McCormick is a PTK advisor at ICC, where she has served as both president and vice president of the Fulton Campus Faculty Association. Her educational background includes the bachelor's degree in mathematics from Mississippi College and the master's degree, also in mathematics, from the University of Mississippi, where she served as a graduate assistant. McCormick's teaching experience also includes adjunct faculty at Hinds Community College, mathematics teacher at Clinton High School and mathematics instructor at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, where she was faculty adviser for the Ridgeland Campus College Ministry and Lamplighter representative. Her honors are Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women. At ICC, she has also been selected Lamplighter representative, NISOD Excellence Award winner, recipient of the Meritorious Achievement award and PTK Horizon Award. McCormick is also the author of the recently-published "A Journey of Faith: Lessons Learned in the Fire." She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton where she participates in its Praise Team. She is married to Lionel McCormick.

Hukle has served as PTK advisor at ICC's Tupelo Campus since August 2000. She is also faculty sponsor for the Computer Programming and Networking Association and a member of the ICC Faculty Association, Mississippi Faculty Association for Community and Junior Colleges, BINaRE and the American Business Women's Association. Her honors include the PTK Horizon award, NISOD Excellence award, Mid-South Community College Fellowship Program, Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Meritorious Achievement Award and Lamplighter Conference. Hukle earned the associate's degree from Northern Oklahoma College, the bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, the master's degree from Phillips University and the doctorate from Mississippi State University. She is married to Grant Hukle.
