Welcome to the
Learning Resource CenterTutorial - SIRSI Online Catalog
BASIC SEARCH Type your topic in the first blank box on the left as shown below. Then click one of the blue ovals underneath to select what kind of search you would like. If you click on search everything, you will retrieve more items than you would by clicking on the blue subject oval. We do not use the medical subject category. If you only want to see Tupelo holdings or only Fulton holdings, you will want to change the library box from all to read either Tupelo or Fulton.
Your search will result in a list that looks something like the one below. You can determine whether or not the item is available by looking in the column at the far right of the screen. If the book is a reference book and cannot be checked out, the location will be REF-STACKS. If it is an e-book and available through the internet, the location will be ONLINE. If it is on the shelf, the location will be STACKS. The Library of Congress number for locating the book on the shelves is the number at the top left. If you are accustomed to the Dewey Decimal system, you may want to take a look at brief description of the Library of Congress categories.

2000POWER SEARCHING
You may want to limit your search to a certain type of material. For example, you may only want to see e-books because these would be available to you wherever you have internet access. For these searches, you will need to click on power search on the upper right of your screen.
The search screen below will appear. If you only want to see online books, you can specify the location as online or the item type as e-book. If you only want to see video-tapes and dvds, you can specify that limitation as well as many others.
VIEWING E-BOOKS
When your search results appear, you will want to click on view to see more information about the item. If the book is online, you can go to end of the record, as shown here, and click on the bottom line of the record to bring the actual text of the book to the screen. (If you are not on campus and do not want to see a listing of the printed books, you may want to go directly to www.netlibrary.com to view our e-books.) You must register on campus, but you can use these e-books books from anywhere you have internet service.
