ICC Strategic Initiatives
2006-2010

  1. Early Intervention for Student Success - Student learning is paramount at ICC. Faculty and staff believe that when at-risk, non-traditional and traditional students (1) are provided appropriate student services upon enrollment, (2) receive attention and/or intervention from instructors early in the semester, (3) are given clear expectations with clear examples of course requirements, and (4) are provided high quality opportunities for learning, their chances for success are elevated.

  2. Faculty and Staff Development - At ICC all employees contribute to the success of the College. In turn, ICC invests in its faculty and staff by providing a comprehensive, systemic program of professional development to ensure up-to-date skills and expertise for fulfilling work-related duties and responsibilities. Lifelong learning is essential for success; therefore, we believe that faculty and staff should model the lifelong learning practices we want our students to emulate.
  3. Flexibility - Faculty and staff at ICC understand that it is difficult to work, commute long distances, fulfill family obligations and attend College. To meet these challenges, ICC will become a flexible institution in response to the needs of our students and college district.
  4. Productive Management Processes - ICC faculty and staff believe in effective management of resources. That belief combined with ongoing budget and time constraints necessitates increased productivity through efficient and effective management processes.
  5. Workforce & Customer-Driven Program & Services - ICC faculty, staff and constituents believe that a well-educated, well-trained workforce is vital to the district's economy and well-being.
