ICC Strategic Initiatives
2011-2015

  1. Completion Rates Improvement - Student completion of ICC programs is critical. Faculty and staff believe that clear communication of the definition of completion is imperative for accurate problem diagnosis and treatment as well as for consistent and correct reporting across the College and to external parties. A college-wide knowledge of completion goals and effort toward goals achievement is necessary for completion rate improvement.
  2. Continuous Improvement Culture - ICC faculty and staff believe that success of the College and its students is a cumulative process in which complacency with current success leads to failure to strive for future improvements. Therefore, all programs and all individuals employed by the College will seek to improve all processes and results under their sphere of influence.
  3. Facilities and Technology Resources Development - ICC faculty and staff believe adequate facilities and technology resources are developed over long periods of time and with many resources in terms of money, labor, research and teamwork. To be good stewards of the resources already invested in current infrastructure and to ensure continuously updated infrastructure, ICC will aggressively pursue building and grounds projects as well as technology maintenance and improvements.
  4. Financial and In-Kind Resources Development - ICC faculty and staff understand the fluctuating nature of traditional funding resources and consequently seek sound, innovative ideas for new funding opportunities while practicing good stewardship of existing traditional funding.
  5. Instructional Flexibility - Faculty and staff at ICC understand that it is difficult to work, commute long distances, fulfill family obligations and attend college. To meet these challenges, ICC will increase flexibility in response to the needs of its students and college district.
  6. Market-Aligned Programs and Services - ICC faculty, staff and constituents believe that a well-educated, well-trained workforce is vital to the district's economy and well-being. Continuously aligning and updating all programs to meet the changing requirements of employers is critical to meeting the district's workforce needs.
