President's Vision
Itawamba Community College will strive to be the premier provider of post-secondary education and lifelong learning for the residents of Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, and Pontotoc counties. As a community based college dedicated to student access, it will seek excellence and effectiveness while adhering to standards of accreditation through principles of sound educational practice.
The college will prepare for the challenges of the new century with vision, confidence, and a clear sense of purpose. This will include internalizing the mission, goals, and objectives of the college and using them as a constant referent in planning, decision-making, and practice. Excellence in the enterprise of teaching, learning and service will be expected from all of the college's stakeholders.
The college will create a climate that encourages achievement, innovation, inclusiveness, creativity, civility and respect for others. The college's strength today and in the future must reside in its value-added services and broad opportunities for students, employees, and the community. By working together, the college will move deliberately and progressively to achieve its mission of providing "educational opportunities for all" through utilization of productive and accountable management practices at every point of delivery.
The college will seek new challenges, approaches and customers through strategic planning. The college will be recognized for the quality and substance of its programs and services; for its principle-centered core values; its integrity and professionalism; its high and achievable standards for customers; its exceptionally high regard for the dignity, worth and potential for each individual; and its sincere, personal and learning-centered approach in the delivery of programs and services.
Educational opportunities and college services will be enhanced in a setting of modern facilities with new and expanded technology to provide both conventional and distance learning. Curricula focused on current and projected needs will prepare students to compete for good jobs in a global society while helping expand partnerships with business and industry.
At all times, the college will expect employees and students to model characteristics of responsibility, citizenship, and excellence as the college carries out its mission and leaves a lasting legacy of education and service to the region.
