Itawamba Community College Receives American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funds

Dear friends of ICC:

This website is designed to promote transparency and accountability in regard to Itawamba Community College's expenditure of federal ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) funds. ICC determined to use its allocation of ARRA funds to defray the cost of academic scholarships in accordance with the federal guidelines on acceptable usage of the appropriation. The ARRA funds provided much needed relief to ICC in light of the reduction in state appropriations during FY10.

ICC chose to use the funds for scholarships because of the direct benefit to students. Also, the additional scholarship support helped ICC to produce all-time record enrollments at ICC while keeping costs passed along to students through tuition and fees at the same rates as were charged during FY09.

ICC wishes to thank U. S. taxpayers and all those government officials who made the ARRA program possible and for its support of American community Colleges.

Sincerely,

David C. Cole
President, Itawamba Community College
