Computer Use PolicyUser Responsibilities
The purpose of Telecommunication and Information Systems (computer, network, FAX and telephone) at ICC is to support the educational mission of the college in accordance with college policies and in a manner conducive to the overall instructional climate. Access to the telecommunication systems is a privilege. Telecommunication users must respect the rights of others and the integrity of the telecommunication systems and related resources.

ICC Copyright Infringement and Peer-to-Peer Policy
Users have the following responsibilities:
- Users must follow all the requirements of college policies, regulations, and procedures. In addition, users must observe all relevant laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Users may enter the college's telecommunication systems only through their authorized ICC account. Accounts and account passwords may not be shared.
- Inappropriate use of telecommunication resources and hindering access by other users is prohibited. Users must not obstruct the operations of the ICC telecommunication system.
- Users must respect the privacy of others by refraining from inspecting, broadcasting or modifying personal data without consent. Users must not use the college's telecommunication systems to make statements that may injure another person.
- Use of the college's network to access, copy, or transmit inappropriate, obscene and/or pornographic material is not permitted.
- Users must observe all pertinent copyright laws and licensing requirement when using, copying and/or downloading software programs or files.
- Itawamba Community College expects that all faculty/staff/students/guest to adhere to the United States Copyright Act and the related acts which further define the proper use of copyrighted materials. - Users must agree to these terms and conditions in order to use these electronic services. In order to maintain system performance and security, telecommunication activity will be monitored by authorized individuals. If individuals are suspected of abusing computers or the system, the contents of user files may also be inspected.
- Violations by students will be reported to the Vice President of Development and Planning and Vice President of Student Services for review and resolution. Account privileges of students and other users may be suspended while a reported violation is under review. Based on the severity of the violation(s), use of the Telecommunications Resources may be limited, regulated and/or terminated. Individuals who have sanctions imposed have the right to appeal to the Complaints and Grievance - Due Process Committee as outlined in Policy GAE-R.
- Inactive accounts are purged once in the Fall semester (October) and once in the Spring semester (March). Accounts are purged for the following reasons:
- No active application on file and not eligible to enroll in classes.
- No currently not enrolled in classes.
