FINANCIAL AID PAYMENT

Itawamba Community College students receiving grants, scholarships and loans may defer all fees (tuition, books and room/board) up to the total of all official awards until the awards are paid by the Business Office. No financial aid will be officially awarded until the student's application is completed and eligibility is determined and the student has met all admission requirements as determined by the Registrar.

Payments Schedule - (2009-2010)

WITHDRAWAL/DROP OUT OF SCHOOL- If you withdraw from school before you complete 60 percent of the school term, you may owe a refund to the school.

We do not want you to withdraw, but if you must, withdraw after the above date if possible.  Withdrawing from school can also affect your future financial aid eligibility.

The Financial Aid Office will collect all financial awards (grants, loans, work-study, institutional scholarships and all other scholarships) and credit all awards to the Business Office account. The Financial Aid Office will authorize the Business Office to pay the appropriate awards.

Loans - will be disbursed to your Business office account according to the following schedule. School charges will be withheld and any remaining funds will be mailed to you. REMINDER: You must be enrolled in at least 6 hours to receive loan funds.

LEAP and Scholarships-Your enrollment status will be checked at one point in time as shown below. If you drop some classes before this date it may reduce the amount of your financial aid package.

MTAG, MESG and County Tuition Grants - Enrollment will be based on billable hours.  School charges will be withheld and any remaining funds will be mailed to you.

Summer 2010

PELL, AC, TEACH GRANTS - Student receives the lesser of one semester award (based on enrollment status) or the remaining portion of the award.  These grants are only available to students who have been awarded financial aid for the prior year but for some reason have not received the total award.  (2009-2010 Award Year).  Enrollment will be checked on TBA.  You will only be paid for classes you completed or are enrolled in on this date.

STAFFORD LOAN - One semester award (must be enrolled in, and/or have completed at least 6 credit hours before loan funds may be received).  Loans will be disbursed in 2 installments beginning TBA and TBA.  Tuition and charges will be withheld from loan funds.  If you are a first time loan borrower, loans will be disbursed beginning TBA.
