Medical Waiver Form (adobe .pdf format)There will be two stunt clinics and a two-day tryout for those interested in cheering at Itawamba Community College. The purpose of the stunt clinics is to allow an individual to practice stunt skills, jumps, tumbling, and cheer material that will be evaluated during tryouts. Judges are present on the final day of tryouts to evaluate and determine the best representatives for the ICC Cheer squad. It is to each individual's advantage to attend at least one stunt clinic.
Required Skills
- Stunt skills: Liberty, toss-hand extension, and 1 optional stunt (Must be able to cradle from all stunts)
- Jumps: Toe touch (females)
- Baskets: Usually not done at tryouts, but taught after squad is chosen.
- Tumbling is not required but is highly recommended
Scholarships
At the beginning of each semester a total of 14 scholarships will be extended to members of the cheerleading squad. Renewal of these scholarships will be based on each participant's practice and game performance, level of fitness, conduct, and academic performance. Entering freshmen enrolling for their first term at ICC must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and carry at least 12 semester hours. Students previously enrolled in college must have been enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) prior to their competition with a 2.00 grade point average.
