- PBL is committed to helping students bridge the gap between the classroom and office world by providing students with the opportunity to learn firsthand about the business community.
- The purpose of Phi Beta Lambda is to develop competencies for business and office occupation.
- PBL promotes a sense of civic and personal responsibility.
- The following are the specific goals on which this organization was developed:
- Develop competent, aggressive business leadership
- Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
- Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.
- Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community.
- Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
- Encourage and practice efficient money management.
- Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty.
- Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
- Facilitate the transition from school to work.
How to Join PBL
To join the Tupelo Chapter of PBL, you pay your annual dues of $35.00 to any BOT instructor. This annual fee includes a t-shirt with the current logo. The annual year is June 1 to May 31 of the following year.
Meeting Schedule
The Tupelo Chapter of PBL meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at noon in the Administration 105 on the Tupelo Campus.
