What is Student Government Association?

What are the Duties?

The Student Government association is an organization of students elected by the student body to fulfill the objectives of the Preamble of the Constitution, to provide appropriate machinery for student self government, to establish, maintain and support the highest standards of ethical conduct among the students, to support the aims, traditions, and purposes of the Council, and to aid the Community College in its large purpose of education.

Duties

To act for the students in all affairs concerning men and women students as specifically limited to the Constitution.  To act as an advisory group to student organizations and the administration in all matter of student affairs.  To investigate over all student organizations other than the student government.  To assist in all student elections including the Student Government election if not on the ballot.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 hours
  • Must be a sophomore (completed 24+ hrs)
  • Must have at least a 2.0 grade point average
