Educational Projects -- Elementary School

• Presentation -- How to Start a Small Business - How_to_Start_a_Businesstj.ppt ( 950272 Bytes ) This PowerPoint presentation is designed for grades 4-6. It goes through the things needed to develop a small business.
• Tommy T-Rex - tommy_trex.doc ( 50176 Bytes ) This project is designed for young children (grades 1-3).
• Seeds of Success - seeds_of_success.doc ( 49664 Bytes )  This is the story of a little boy and how he is taught to EARN the money that he needs for a new bicycle. (Cute)
• Little Red Hen - Little_Red_Hen_coloring_sheet.doc ( 65024 Bytes )  Should be used with Kindergarten and First grade. Video demonstrates how those who do the work should receive the reward. A coloring sheet that can be used to measure the understanding of the children is attached
• Global Trade - Global_Trade.ppt ( 710656 Bytes ) This presentation is designed to teach the basics of global trade to elementary students.

Educational Projects -- Middle School

• Chickenomics - CHICKENOMICS.doc ( 29184 Bytes ) This video presentation is designed for middle school students. The video was made in the 1980's (old), but it emphasizes the characteristics of a free market and how one should use his resources to the best of his ability in order to be successful. 
• Supply and Demand Market Simulation - Supply_and_Demand_Experiment.doc ( 23552 Bytes ) -- Supply_and_Demand_presentation.ppt ( 167424 Bytes ) This project includes a short presentation on the basic elements of supply and demand. The fun begins when buyers and sellers are sent to the marketplace to try to find someone with which to trade.
• Business Lingo Bingo - BLB_Definition_Page.doc ( 23552 Bytes ) -- LB_POST_TEST.xls ( 16896 Bytes ) -- LB_PRETEST.xls ( 16896 Bytes ) This game works very similar to Bingo except business terminology is used. Pre and Post tests measure the information that the students have gained from the game.  In this folder are the pre and post tests to be given to the children. You will need to have enough for each child to take one of each. Also the word list with the definitions is given so you can become familiar with the terms.

• Career Planning - CAREER_EXPO_HANDOUT1.doc ( 87040 Bytes ) -- CAREER_POWER_POINT2.ppt ( 209408 Bytes ) --The_Career_Game_PPT.ppt ( 48128 Bytes ) In this project students are asked to complete questions to determine where their aptitudes may lie. Use the Career Game PowerPoint along with the cards. Also available is a short powerpoint presentation outlining careers available in the area of business with information on salaries, educational requirements, etc...
• International Economics - International_Education_Project.doc ( 24064 Bytes ) This presentation was prepared to teach high school and college students about the cultures and economies of various countries.
• Importance of Good Credit - This presentation emphasizes the benefits of good credit and how one should avoid temptations that ruin his or her credit. Especially stressed are the dangers of misusing credit cards. The benefits of maintaining good credit would include acquiring a good reputation and better chances of being hired for a good job.
• Collegiate Investment Challenge - Investment_Challenge.doc ( 26624 Bytes )  Students in Business Seminar, Economics, and Accounting Classes receive credit for participation in this on-line stock market simulation. Click on the attached document for registration instructions.
