Coach Mike Sullivan
Mike Sullivan will begin his seventh season as head coach of the Indian soccer team. The Indians broke nearly every offensive and defensive record in the program's history, went 14-3 overall and 8-2 inside the division, only a game out of first, and qualified for the playoffs in 2007. The district runner-up was in the national rankings for two weeks, which was another first for the program.
This will be Sullivan's fourteenth year in the coaching profession, both on the high school and college level, and his overall record is 134-118-15. His coaching career has spanned two years at Columbus High School, five years at Meridian High School, and six years at Itawamba Community College.
While at Meridian High School Sullivan was chosen Division Coach of the Year three times and was also named to coach the Coca-Cola All-Star Game in 1998. His appearance as a coach in the all-star game made him the first person in the game's history to have someone play and coach in the game. He holds a National Youth Soccer Coaching License and is a member of the U.S. Soccer Coaches Organization, U.S. Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Sullivan, who was a three-year All Division soccer selection at Starkville High School, played in the Coca-Cola All-Star soccer game as a senior in high school. He was also a member of the Mississippi State University Soccer Club team.
He is married to Dawn Sullivan and the father of three children, Shannon, 10; Brittany, 8; and Dylan, 8. He earned his both his bachelor's degree in physical education and master's degree in sports administration from Mississippi State University.
