Coach Mike Sullivan
Mike Sullivan will begin his first season as head coach of the Lady Indian soccer team. He inherits a team that finished fourth in the North Division last year with a 2-6 record and 4-11 overall.
This will be Sullivan’s thirteenth year in the coaching profession, both on the high school and college level. His overall coaching record is 111 – 109 – 14. His coaching career has spanned two years at Columbus High School, five years at Meridian High School, and five years here at Itawamba Community College.
Sullivan was a three-year All Division soccer selection at Starkville High School and played in the Coca-Cola All-Star soccer game as a senior in high school. He was also a member of the Mississippi State University Soccer Club team.
While at Meridian High School Sullivan was chosen Division Coach of the Year three times and was also named to coach the Coca-Cola All-Star Game in 1998. His appearance as a coach in the all-star game made him the first person in the game’s history to have someone play and coach in the game. He holds a National Youth Soccer Coaching License and is a member of the U.S. Soccer Coaches Organization, U.S. Soccer Federation, and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
He is married to Dawn Sullivan. They are the parents of three children, Shannon, Brittany, and Dylan. He earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education from Mississippi State University and is currently working on finishing his master’s degree in sports administration at Mississippi State University.
