The Itawamba Community College Tennis Court Complex, home to one of
Mississippi's premier collegiate men's and women's tennis programs, is
considered one of the finest facilities in the entire MACJC. The venue
features six courts, which are located next to the softball complex on
the northern section of the ICC Fulton campus on Tombigbee Street.
The facility was originally built in 1979 with an asphalt surface but
was refurbished to post-tension concrete in 2001 and has also hosted a
long list of high school division tournaments. In case of inclement
weather, long-time ICC head coach Paul Johnson and his two squads work
out in the fitness center indoor practice facility.
It joins the Davis Event Center (basketball), Crubaugh Field
(baseball), Lambert Stadium (football) and the soccer and softball
complexes to give Itawamba Community College one of the finest groups of
athletic facilities for a community college not only in Mississippi, but
in the entire southeastern United States.
Since the facility's completion, Fulton-area tennis enthusiasts have
also utilized the courts. In addition, players and spectators have the
opportunity to enjoy the view looking up to the bluff area on the back
of the campus.
