How To Apply for Federal Financial Aid
and Student Loans

  1. The web site to apply for a personal identification number is www.pin.ed.gov. You must apply for a PIN if you plan to complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) online. Students and parents can apply for a PIN. The PIN is used to electronically sign the FAFSA.
  2. The web site to apply for federal financial aid is www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed if you are interested in applying for the Pell Grant, College Work Study, Teach Grant, Academic Competitiveness Grant, or Federal Direct Loans.
  3. The ICC web site is www.iccms.edu. Click on the student tab, then click on Financial Aid.  Under Financial Aid, click on Financial Aid Forms and Applications.  Click on Financial Aid Application/Authorization.  Print this form out and submit it to the ICC Financial Aid Office.

    Once you have completed the application(s) mail or fax them to the Financial Aid Office. Address is listed on the front of the application. Financial Aid Office fax number is 662.862.8225. And remember, to apply for student loans, you must complete the FAFSA and be at least a halftime student (6 or more hours).
     

  5. To apply for State Financial Aid go to www.mississippi.edu/ihl/ Complete this online application to apply for the Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG), Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant (MESG) and other state funds such as Critical Needs and Help Scholarships. You can also check your state application status from this site.
  6. Transfer students who have attended other colleges should have official transcripts set ot the ICC Admissions office before the recommended application deadline dates.
  7. Recommended financial aid deadlines for having the Financial Aid application submitted and completed are:
    • Fall Term: July 31
    • Spring Term: January 3
    • Summer Term: May 15
  8.  Applications submitted or incomplete after these dates may result in students being unable to purchase textbooks and supplies.
