What Is Needed to Purchase Books
Before purchasing books, it is recommended that students attend class first. To aid in purchasing textbooks students should bring their schedule. This helps ensure the bookstore staff assist the student with the correct book for his or her class.
Methods of Purchase
Students may purchase books using cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and financial aid. The financial aid account can include scholarships, loans, grants and any other type of educational assistance. This money is deposited into a bookstore account that students may access using their student ID or driver's license. Before using financial aid in the bookstore, students may first need to verify their account balance in the Business office.
For online purchasing of books, Visa and MasterCard are the only forms of payment that are available.
Financial Aid Deadlines
Students usually have six weeks to use their financial aid accounts during the fall and spring semesters and two weeks during the summer term.
Book Buyback Policy
During the first six weeks of a regular semester a textbook can be returned with a receipt and a class drop slip. During the first and second weeks full price of the textbook will be received; third and fourth weeks, $3 off retail; and the fifth and sixth weeks, half price. After the sixth week, a student cannot return a book until the buyback at the end of the semester. The textbook will be bought back only if there is a need. Workbooks, lab manuals and other types of textbooks are non-returnable. If a student returns a new textbook that was wrapped in plastic, he/she will receive only the full used price.
Books must be in resalable condition. If pages are missing, falling out or torn or if the books have been wet, they are not returnable. The bookstore may refuse to buy books if there is excessive writing. Students must return everything purchased with the textbooks (i.e., disks, CDs or any extra booklets that may have accompanied the text).
