Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges and is dedicated to the hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. PTK provides opportunities for individual growth and development and recognizes students' academic achievement.
Membership Eligibility
To be eligible for membership, a student:
- Must be enrolled in a regionally-accredited institution offering an associate degree program
- Must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework leading to an associate degree (part-time students may be eligible)
- Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 to join
- Must maintain a grade point average of 3.3 to continue membership
- Must enjoy full rights of citizenship in your country
Typically both part-time* and full-time students who have met all of the academic requirements are invited to become members.
*Part-time students may be eligible for membership if they have accumulated the total number of hours over two or more academic terms by this institution as a full-time student (12 semester hours minimum).
Phi Theta Kappa members can enroll in an Honors class designed for developing leadership skills.
