PROGRAM OVERVIEW

THE PROGRAM

Criminal Justice Technology is a two-year, fully online program designed to provide training in traffic law, community policing, criminal investigation, corrections and criminal law. Many state and local agencies encourage applicants to take courses or training related to law enforcement subjects after high school. Students can earn a Career Certificate upon completion of the first 30 hours of the program curriculum. Upon completion of the two-year program, the student will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology.

THE PROFESSION

Graduates of the program may expect to enter the job market at an entry-level position in law enforcement. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of police and sheriff’s patrol officers is expected to grow five percent from 2018-2028, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
