PROGRAM OVERVIEW
THE PROGRAM
Early Childhood Education Technology is a two-year, fully online program designed to help students develop competencies in child growth and development, behavioral guidance, health/nutrition and safety, program planning and management, child abuse and neglect, creative arts and literacy development, active learning in the classroom and developmentally appropriate practices in the classroom. Upon completion of the two-year program, the student will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education Technology. Students must pass a criminal background check prior to participating in childcare center activities.

THE PROFESSION
Graduates of the two-year program may expect to enter the job market at an entry-level position in early education centers, daycares and as assistant teachers in the public school system or Head Start centers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of preschool teachers is projected to grow three percent from 2022-2032, about as fast as the average for all occupations. The expected salary is $13.71 per hour, and the national median annual wage for preschool teachers working in child daycare services is $28,520.
