Gateway Youth Program

Gateway, a youth work program, is a federal grant awarded and administered by the Mississippi Partnership Workforce Development Board and Three Rivers Planning and Development District, Inc. The purpose of the program is to serve 80 disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24, not currently enrolled in school and unemployed or underemployed. Goals for the youth are to complete the essential job skills training, obtain a high school equivalency diploma if needed, participate in a paid work experience opportunity, enroll in college or in an occupational or advanced training program, join the military or become employed. Eligible youth will have access to a paid work experience internship once they complete the essential job skills training.

Enrollment Requirements: Age 16-24; Out of school

Fees: No cost to student

Work Experience: Up to 160 hours

What's Next: High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, ICC Career Pathways or college programs, full-time employment or enlistment in the military
