PROGRAM OVERVIEW

THE PROGRAM

The online General Studies program at ICC is a flexible degree option that allows students to tailor coursework to their own interests while also gaining broad exposure to core educational requirements that will enable seamless transfer to a four-year university. General Studies is an interdisciplinary program that stresses critical thinking, effective communication and analytical reasoning. This degree is an ideal choice for students who may not be 100 percent ready to commit to a specific major field of study since the program’s interdisciplinary focus allows students to explore disciplines that may be of interest before deciding a major.

After completing the program requirements, students are eligible to receive an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, an excellent stepping stone to a bachelor’s degree.
