Student Government Association (SGA)

SGA is the official student voice at ICC. Members represent their peers, participate in campus initiatives, share feedback and develop leadership, communication and service skills. Student Feedback

Students are encouraged to share questions, concerns, ideas and suggestions through SGA representatives or the Office of the Vice President of Student Services.

Student Gathering Spaces

On the Fulton Campus, the Student Activities Building provides lounge seating, televisions, recreation and space to connect, study and relax. It also houses Student Activities, SGA and The Grill. Students at other ICC locations should use designated student commons and gathering areas such as the new Recreational Center on the Tupelo Campus.

Recreation and Fitness

The ICC Fitness Center offers students opportunities to participate in fitness and wellness activities in a dedicated exercise facility. For information regarding facility hours, equipment, programs and policies, visit the ICC Fitness Center page.

ICC Athletics

ICC competes in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Find schedules, scores, rosters, tickets, news and streaming information on the official athletics website at www.letsgoicc.com. Student Publications and Official Communications

Stay informed through the ICC website, official ICC publications, the ICC mobile app, Inside ICC, official social media and the ICC Athletics website. ICC Email, myTribe and the mobile app remain the College's official student communication channels.

Honors and student Recognition

ICC recognizes academic achievement, leadership, service, character and campus involvement through graduation honors and programs such as Hall of Fame, Mr. and Miss ICC, Homecoming Court and Most Beautiful. Requirements and deadlines vary. Use ICC support services early and often. They exist to help you plan, solve problems and remain on track toward completion.

Advising Center

Your assigned adviser helps with course selection, schedule changes, degree planning, major exploration and referrals to campus resources. The Advising Center also provides eAdviser, career counseling and student success support. Visit the Advising Center page for more information.

Instructional Support

The Instructional Support Center (ISC) provides academic support services designed to help students succeed. Services include tutoring, academic coaching, study skills assistance, peer navigation, and support for students facing academic challenges. The ISC also offers online tutoring options and connects students with resources that support their educational goals. Special programs include:

  • Access Program for first-year student success and academic support
  • Graduation Navigation to help students stay on track to complete their degree
  • Academic Recovery Program for students experiencing academic difficulties
  • Peer Navigation for guidance in accessing campus resources and navigating college life
  • ICC Trading Post, a student support resource available at all ICC locations

Supportive and Disability Services

ICC is committed to providing equal access to educational programs, services, and activities for qualified students with disabilities. Students requesting accommodations must contact Supportive & Disability Services and complete the accommodation request process. Appropriate documentation of a disability may be required to establish eligibility for services and accommodations. Accommodation requests are reviewed through an interactive process that considers the student's documentation, functional limitations, and accommodation needs. Students transitioning from high school should be aware that disability services in college differ from those provided in K-12 settings. Accommodations are not automatically provided based on a high school IEP. 504 Plan, or previous accommodations. Students are responsible for self-identifying, requesting accommodations, and providing supporting documentation as needed. Students seeking accommodations are encouraged to being the process as early as possible after admission to the College. Students approved for accommodations should communicate with Supportive & Disability Services each semester regarding their accommodation needs and services. Library Services

ICC Libraries provide research assistance, databases, eBooks, audiobooks, videos, computers, printing and study spaces. Many digital resources are available through the library website. Visit the ICC Library page for more information.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is intended to help students successfully complete their educational goals. Receiving financial aid in one semester does not guarantee continued eligibility in future semesters. Students are responsible for meeting all academic and financial aid requirements, reviewing official College communications and monitoring their financial aid status through ICC resources.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Federal regulations require students receiving federal financial aid to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward the completion of their program of study. SAP is evaluated according to federal guidelines and includes:

  • Maintaining the required cumulative GPA.
  • Successfully completing a minimum percentage of attempted coursework.
  • Completing a program of study within the maximum timeframe allowed for financial aid eligibility.

Students who do not meet SAP requirements may lose eligibility for federal financial aid. Students are encouraged to monitor their academic performance throughout the year and contact the Financial Aid Office with questions regarding their eligibility. Business Office and Student Accounts

The Business Office assists students with tuition and fee payments, account balances, refunds, payment plans, and other student account services. Services may include:

  • Tuition and fee payments

The Business Office can be found in the Administration Building on the Fulton Campus or the Academic and Student Center on the Tupelo Campus.

Student Account Refunds

Students receiving refunds should ensure that their mailing address and contact information remain current with the College. Refunds are processed through the College's designated refund provider. For information regarding refund options and refund preferences, visit the Student Refunds page.

Payment Plans

ICC offers payment plan options to help students manage educational expenses. Payment plans may allow eligible students to spread the cost of tuition and fees over multiple payments during the semester. Students should review available payment plan options, deadlines and enrollment requirements through the Business Office.

Mental Health Services

Confidential counseling and mental health support are available for personal, emotional, academic and mental health concerns. In an immediate emergency, call 911 and notify Campus Police. To schedule an appointment or learn more about available services, visit the Mental Health Services page.

Health Services

ICC does not operate an on-campus health clinic. Contact Campus Police or appropriate College staff for emergency assistance and referrals to local care. Students are responsible for medical treatment and transportation costs. In emergency situations, the College may contact a student's designated emergency contact.

Official Communication and Technology

After applying, students receive credentials for ICC email, myTribe and other College systems. Check ICC email, myTribe and the mobile app regularly for admissions, financial aid, account, schedule, attendance and academic information. Protect your password and use only your assigned account.

Acceptable Use of Technology

ICC technology supports the College's educational mission. Users must follow College policy and law, protect credentials, respect privacy and copyright, avoid disruptive or commercial misuse and refrain from accessing or distributing prohibited content. The College may monitor systems for security and performance. Violations can result in loss of access, discipline, financial liability or legal consequences.

Monitoring and Enforcement

To maintain network security and performance ICC may monitor technology resources. Violations of this policy may result in suspension of access privileges, disciplinary action, financial liability for damages, or legal consequences.

Bookstore Services

ICC Bookstores offer textbooks, course materials, supplies, apparel and student essentials in the David C. Cole Student Services Building in Fulton and the Academic and Student Center in Tupelo. The Grounds coffee shop (We Proudly Serve Starbucks®) is located within both bookstores. For bookstore information, including hours and services, visit the ICC Bookstore page.

Dining Services

Sodexo operates ICC dining. Fulton options include the Dining Hall, Marketside and Chick-fil-A; Tupelo includes the Dining Hall. Residence hall students must participate in a meal plan, and commuter plans are available for purchase. Review current hours, menus, nutrition, allergens, meal plans and Flex Dollars online by visiting the ICC Dining Services page.

Campus Housing and Residence Life

ICC offers on-campus housing on the Fulton Campus designed to support student success, community engagement and campus involvement. Residence Life staff, including hall directors and resident assistants (RAs), provide support and programming throughout the academic year. Residence halls offer a variety of amenities and services for resident students.

Housing Information

Students interested in on-campus housing should complete a housing application and submit the required housing deposit. For housing applications, rates, residence hall information, policies, the Residence Hall Handbook, RA applications and other housing resources, visit the ICC Housing page.

Room Inspections & Room Checks

Students living in campus housing should expect periodic room inspections and room checks conducted by authorized College personnel. These inspections help promote safety, security, facility maintenance and compliance with College policies and housing expectations. Inspections and room checks may occur whether or not all room occupants are present. Students are expected to maintain their assigned living spaces in accordance with College policies and Residence Life standards. Visitors & Guests

Visitation and overnight guest privileges are governed by Housing & Residence Life policies. Current guidelines are available through the Housing Office and the Residence Hall Handbook.

Use official College processes and published deadlines. When a change could affect financial aid, graduation or your account, speak with your adviser and the appropriate office before acting.

Admissions and Registrar's Office

The office supports admission, registration, enrollment, transcripts, academic records, testing and FERPA compliance. Service locations are the David C. Cole Student Services Building in Fulton and the Academic and Student Center in Tupelo.

Registration & Enrollment

Students must satisfy all admission or readmission requirements before registering for classes. Registration opportunities include:

ICC offers testing services that support admissions, placement, and academic success. Available testing services include:

  • ACCUPLACER Placement Assessment

Student Records & FERPA

Student educational records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA provides students with rights regarding:

Academic Procedures

Schedule Changes (Add/Drop)

Students may adjust their schedules during designated registration and add/drop periods according to College deadlines. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with their academic adviser before making schedule changes. Students can view their assigned academic adviser through their myTribe account or contact the Advising Center at eadviser@iccms.edu for assistance. After published add/drop dates, course additions may require approval from the instructor and appropriate academic administrator. Students are responsible for how schedule changes may affect:

Withdrawal from a Course

Students who need to withdraw from an individual course must complete the official withdrawal process by the published deadline. Before withdrawing from a course, students are strongly encouraged to meet with their academic adviser to discuss the potential impact on academic progress, degree completion, transfer plans, housing status, and financial aid eligibility. Students can view their assigned academic adviser through myTribe or contact the Advising Center at eadviser@iccms.edu. Failure to officially withdraw may affect:

Withdrawal from the College

Students who need to discontinue enrollment should complete the official College Withdrawal process. Before withdrawing from the College, students are strongly encouraged to consult with:

Academic Expectations

Attendance & Class Participation

Regular class attendance is an important component of student success. Students are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled classes
  • Participate in required course activities
  • Complete coursework as assigned
  • Monitor attendance records

Students who exceed the allowable absence limit may be withdrawn from a course in accordance with College policy. Some academic programs may establish additional attendance requirements because of accreditation, clinical, licensure, or program standards. College-Sanctioned Activities

Students participating in authorized College activities are responsible for communicating with instructors regarding missed coursework, assignments, or examinations. Class Reinstatement & Attendance Appeals

Students who are withdrawn from a course because of excessive absences may request reinstatement through the established College appeal process. Students can find more information by viewing the Attendance Policy on the ICC Policies and Procedures page.

Academic Integrity

ICC is committed to academic honesty, ethical behavior, and scholarly integrity. Academic misconduct includes:

  • Cheating
  • Plagiarism
  • Unauthorized collaboration
  • Falsification of academic work
  • Misuse of technology during academic activities

Academic Integrity Process & Appeals

Code of Student Conduct

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that supports the College's educational mission and contributes to a safe and respectful campus environment. The Code of Student Conduct addresses a wide range of behavioral expectations and prohibited conduct, including, but not limited to:

Student Complaints & Resolution

ICC is committed to providing a fair, accessible, and responsive process for addressing student concerns. Students are encouraged to first attempt to resolve concerns informally by discussing the matter with the person or office involved. If the issue remains unresolved, students may submit a formal student complaint through the College's complaint process. Student complaints may involve concerns related to a College service, process, or employee. Certain matters, such as student conduct, financial aid awards, admissions decisions, housing status, Title IX matters, ADA complains, and other designated areas, are addressed through separate processes.

Student Complaint Appeals

Students who are not satisfied with the resolution of a formal complaint may appeal through the established appeal process in accordance with College procedures. Appeals must be based on approved grounds identified in the Student Complaint Procedures.

Certified Campus Police officers provide emergency response, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, safety escorts, lost-and-found assistance and limited vehicle assistance, including jump starts, unlocks and tire inflation. Whether you need emergency assistance, want to report a concern, need a vehicle unlock, or have a safety question, Campus Police is here to help:

Report a Crime or Safety Concern

See something, say something. Report suspicious activity, threats, theft, vandalism, unsafe conditions, broken locks or lighting, medical emergencies or anything that makes you feel unsafe. Early reporting helps Campus Police respond quickly.

Medical Assistance

Campus Police officers are trained Emergency Medical Responders. ICC does not operate a medical clinic or hospital. Emergency medical services may transport individuals to an appropriate facility, and students are responsible for related medical and transportation expenses.

Lost and Found

Turn found property in to Campus Police. Report a lost item promptly and provide enough detail to help identify it.

Everyday Safety

Lock vehicles and residence hall rooms, keep valuables out of sight, secure devices, know emergency exits and shelter locations, save Campus Police numbers and monitor ICC ALERT. Never prop open secured doors, share IDs or access credentials, or assume someone else reported an emergency.

Do:

  • Lock your vehicle, even for short trips
  • Lock your residence hall room when you leave
  • Keep valuables out of sight
  • Secure backpacks, laptops, and other personal belongings
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • Request a safety escort if needed
  • Save Campus Police numbers in your phone
  • Know your building's emergency exits and evacuation routes
  • Familiarize yourself with severe weather shelter locations
  • Stay informed through ICC Alert, email, and myTribe notifications

Don't:

  • Leave valuables unattended
  • Leave your residence hall room unlocked
  • Leave your vehicle unlocked or valuables visible inside
  • Prop open residence hall or secured building doors
  • Ignore suspicious or concerning behavior
  • Assume someone else has reported an emergency
  • Share parking decals, IDs, keys or access credentials

Parking and Traffic Safety

  • Register your vehicle and display your ICC parking decal.
  • The speed limit on all ICC locations is 20 MPH.
  • Pedestrians always have the right-of-way.
  • Use designated crosswalks whenever possible.
  • Drivers should remain alert for pedestrians, especially during class changes and in parking lots.
  • Pedestrians should stay aware of their surroundings and avoid distractions when crossing streets and parking areas.
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other personal transportation devices should be operated responsibly and with consideration for others.
  • Riders should yield to pedestrians and follow all posted traffic controls.
  • Park only in designated parking areas.
  • Parking in fire lanes, accessible parking spaces without proper authorization, sidewalks, grassy areas, or other restricted locations may result in citations or towing.
  • Unauthorized parking may result in fines or towing at the owner's expense.
  • Report traffic hazards, damaged signs, unsafe driving behavior or safety concerns to Campus Police.

Shared Responsibility

Whether you are walking, driving, biking or using a scooter, everyone plays a role in maintaining a safe campus environment. Be courteous, stay alert and help ensure the safety of all members of the ICC community. Visit the Campus Safety page for more information.

Alcohol and Other Drugs

ICC is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment. The possession, use, distribution, or sale of alcohol and illegal drugs is prohibited on College property and at College-sponsored activities unless specifically authorized by law and College policy. Students are expected to make responsible decisions and comply with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as College policies regarding alcohol and other drugs.

Students who are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, exhibit disruptive behavior, or create a risk to themselves or others may be subject to:

  • Immediate intervention by Campus Police or College officials
  • Removal from College activities or facilities
  • Referral for medical assistance when necessary
  • Disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct

Weapons

ICC is committed to maintaining a safe learning and working environment for all students, employees, and visitors. Firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives, water guns, splat guns, and other weapon-like devices are prohibited on College-controlled property and at College-sponsored activities except as specifically authorized by law or College policy. Certain limited exceptions may apply under Mississippi law and Board Policy J.23. Students found in possession of a prohibited weapon may be subject to:

  • Immediate intervention by Campus Police
  • Removal from College property or activities
  • Interim suspension pending disciplinary review
  • Disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct, up to and including expulsion
  • Criminal penalties when applicable

Students who have questions regarding weapons on campus should contact Campus Police before bringing any item that could be considered a weapon onto College property.

Guests and Visitors

Guests are expected to comply with College policies and procedures. Students may be held accountable for misconduct committed by their guests and may face disciplinary action when guest behavior violates College expectations. Guests who violate College policies may be asked to leave campus and may be prohibited from returning. Students should be prepared to assist College officials when questions arise regarding their guests.

Tobacco-Free and Vape-Free College

ICC is committed to providing a healthy learning environment for students, employees, and visitors. The use of tobacco products, smoking materials, and electronic smoking or vaping devices is prohibited on all College-owned, leased, or controlled property, including buildings, parking lots, walkways, athletic facilities, and College vehicles. In addition, the possession of electronic smoking and vaping devices, including vape pens, e-cigarettes, e-hookahs, vaporizers, and similar devices, is prohibited on College property. Students found in violation of this policy may be referred to the Office of the Vice President of Student Services and may be subject to disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct.

Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence and Stalking

ICC is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment free from sex-based discrimination, harassment and violence. The College prohibits:

Missing Resident Student

The safety and well-being of students residing in College housing is a priority. Any student, employee, or other individual who believes that a resident student may be missing should immediately contact the Itawamba Community College Campus Police Department. Upon receiving a report of a potentially missing resident student, Campus Police will promptly initiate an investigation and make reasonable efforts to locate the student and verify the student's safety and whereabouts.

Students residing in College housing will have the opportunity to designate a confidential emergency contact to be notified if the student is determined to be missing. This information will be maintained confidentially and will be accessible only to authorized College officials and law enforcement personnel as required to carry out their responsibilities. If a resident is determined to be missing, the College will:

  • Notify the student's designated emergency contact person within 24 hours of the determination that the student is missing;
  • Notify the parent or legal guardian of a student who is under 18 years of age and not emancipated within 24 hours of the determination that the student is missing; and
  • Notify the appropriate law enforcement agency and cooperate fully in any resulting investigation.

The College will continue to coordinate response efforts and communicate with appropriate contacts as necessary until the matter is resolved.

Campus Closures and Delays

In the event of severe weather, hazardous conditions, or other emergencies, the College may delay opening, dismiss early, transition to remote operations, or close campus. The President or designated College officials will make closure decisions as promptly as circumstances allow. Official announcements will be communicated through:

  • The College website
  • Official College social media accounts
  • College email
  • Other official communication channels as appropriate

ICC ALERT is the College's official emergency mass notification system for students, faculty, and staff. The system provides timely information regarding emergency situations, safety threats, campus closures, delays and other critical announcements.
