29 September ICC announces 2026 Homecoming Court, alumni honorees September 29, 2026 By Camp, Tyler W Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College will recognize its 2026 Homecoming Court during halftime of the Oct. 8 football game against Jones College at Butch Lambert Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The court includes Homecoming Queen Olivia Snellings of Bruce; Homecoming King Christopher Hampton Jr. of Amory; Fulton Campus sophomore maids are Jayonna Anderson of New Albany and Alonna Snyder of Saltillo; Tupelo Campus sophomore maids are Audrey McCuller of Pontotoc and Aliyah Sims of Belden; Fulton Campus freshman maids are Miley Ray of South Pontotoc and Anniston Wiggins of Algoma; and Tupelo Campus freshman maids are Eva Foote of Blue Mountain and Maci Rae McLellen of Tupelo. Homecoming festivities begin at 5 p.m. with an awards ceremony at the Davis Event Center. ICC will honor Gene Rogers of Chelsea, Alabama, as Alumnus of the Year; Blaine and Corie Walters of Columbus as joint recipients of the Young Alumnus of the Year Award; Chuck Howell of Pontotoc as the Donna Thomas Distinguished Service Award recipient; and Anthony Fernandez of New Albany, Kimmy Nicholson Brown of Walnut Grove and the late Norman Hand will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. ICC announces 2026 Hall of Fame honorees Itawamba Community College has announced the students selected for induction into the 2026 ICC Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic achievement and service during their time at the college. The 2026 ICC Hall of Fame honorees are Cherish Brown, Bella Cochran, Anna Kate Crenshaw, Aleena Gregory, Anna Lauren Glasson, Brooklyn Lane, Karry Linley, Landon Long, Sydney Palmer, Molly Sansing, Shelby Sullivan and Hallie Tenhet. Cherish Brown, a biomedical sciences major from Tupelo, has been actively involved in student leadership at ICC, serving as Tupelo Student Government Association president and participating in Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta and the ICC Honors College. She is a student at Tupelo High School completing her degree at ICC through Middle College. Bella Cochran, a political science major from Tupelo, has distinguished herself academically and in leadership roles at ICC, serving as Phi Theta Kappa president and earning placement on the Dean’s List and President’s List. Nominations open for 2024 ICC Alumni honorees Nominations are being accepted through Apr. 1 for Itawamba Community College’s 2024 Alumnus of the Year, Athletic Hall of Fame, ICC Distinguished Service Award and Young Alumnus of the Year. Those selected will be honored during homecoming activities this fall at the Fulton Campus. Criteria for selection for Alumnus of the Year include successful completion of at least one semester as a full-time student at ICC five years prior to the current year as well as merit and achievement which have brought fame and honor to either his/her community or ICC. ICC’s Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes, coaches or individuals who have excelled or made major contributions to intercollegiate athletics while attending or employed by ICC. They must have been out of school at least 10 years. Accomplishments and support of ICC also may be considered. The Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to ICC, is open to an individual, group or organization that has made substantial, outstanding and consistent contribution to the college through tangible or intangible gifts or deeds. They include Dr. C.K. “Dick” White of Tupelo, Alumnus of the Year; Miss. Rep. Donnie Bell of Fulton, ICC Distinguished Service award; and David Duke of Clinton and Marty Cooper of Fulton, Athletic Hall of Fame. White, who is a native of Fulton, graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School and from 1969-71 attended IJC where he was a member of the baseball team. In 2020, he retired as chief medical officer of the North Mississippi Medical Center. From 2018-20, he also served as interim chief quality and safety medical officer for North Mississippi Health Services, and since 2016, executive board member of Connected Care Partners CIN. He has an extensive list of honors and awards, including NMMC Surgeon of the Year and Itawamba Agricultural High School Alumnus of the Year. He played football at ICC, where he was selected to Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges.
