ICC honors 2026 IMPACT Scholarship recipients and influential teachers

Itawamba Community College recognized 20 IMPACT Scholarship recipients and the teachers who shaped their lives during the college’s second annual IMPACT Scholarship Luncheon at the Connection Center.

In addition to supporting students, the distinctive scholarship program recognizes students' academic achievements while also highlighting the profound impact of influential educators. Its core goal is to build stronger ties between students, teachers and the institution by celebrating these significant relationships. Excerpts shared at the luncheon described educators who offered encouragement, built confidence and continued to support students beyond the classroom.

“These students are here in this room today because you made a difference and an impact on their lives,” Michael Upton said during the program. “And we know that you’ve done that for so many others who are not present here today.”

The recipients and the teachers they honored are Adamary Banuelos, Crystal Short; Addy West, Dylan Hunsucker; Alexa Shinabery, the late Elizabeth Gill; Angel Martinez, Kevin Powell; Anniston Wiggins, Courtney Allen; Avery Fulford, Monica Baldwin; Brayden Pepperman, Brooke Case; Briona Sheffield, Jamie Roberts; Ella Hughes, Randy Earnest; and Ella Frances Martin, Savannah Griffin; Emily Rushing, Charla Creel; Hagan Pearce, Randy Earnest; Lauren Hobson, Bert Anderson; Makhi Findley, Jeanette Aday; Martin Boyd, Beau Carsten; Molly Chisholm, Brandy Higgason; Parker Gray, Kevin Williams; Parker Harris, Scott Emison; William Tutor, Katelyn Earnest; and Yasmin Ortiz, Donald Coleman.

This scholarship program was established through a generous philanthropic gift donated by an individual who has experienced the transformative effects of a life focused on accepting the love of Jesus and extending forgiveness to others, highlighting the powerful potential of donor-driven initiatives in higher education. This scholarship is sponsored at 16 institutions across Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. During the current school year, the ICC Foundation awarded a record 220 scholarships to 195 students, including the 20 IMPACT recipients.
