ICC Paralegal program cited

Paralegal EDU has named Itawamba Community College’s paralegal program as its top recommendation for students in Mississippi.

After reviewing hundreds of programs available at accredited schools, Paralegal EDU determined that ICC’s program deserved to be recognized among the best of the best, according to Sean Reed, senior editor for Paralegal EDU.

“Mississippi’s best in paralegal studies can be found at Itawamba Community College, which offers the AAS in Paralegal Technology, a two-year degree designed to prepare paralegals in a number of areas, including legal research, civil litigation, family law and more,” according to Paralegal EDU. “This fully online program is just one of Itawamba’s career and technical education programs that are designed to prepare students to enter the job market as competent and qualified professionals. We also love that this program includes an internship designed to round out your education and prepare you to serve as a competent and reliable member of the legal team.”

Paralegal EDU noted that the associate’s degree has emerged as the go-to option when it comes to educational preparation for a paralegal career. “Standards bearers from the ABA (American Bar Association) to professional certification organizations like NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) and NFPA (National Federation of Paralegal Associations) have all gone on record with official recommendations in support of 60-credits of college coursework, the equivalent of a two-year degree program, being the standard minimum.”

Reed said that the resources were created to help prospective students find the programs Paralegal EDU feels “really deserve their attention and that we can feel 100 percent confident about recommending.”

“We are pleased to receive this acknowledgement by Paralegal EDU,” said program director Jamie Hall.
