  Itawamba Community College has scheduled several concerts for April.             They include Small Ensembles, Apr. 9, 7 p.m.; Spring Band, Apr. 11, 6:30 p.m.; Percussion Ensemble, Apr. 16, 7 p.m. and CenterStage, Apr. 24, 7 p.m.             Groups included in the Small Ensemble concert are the Rush Hour Saxophone Quartet, Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble.              Members of the Rush Hour Saxophone Quartet include Dalton Brandon, Addison Clements, Mikey Coleman, Cassidy Edwards, Dexter Fason, Jacob Goodman and Joseph Lewis. • ICC schedules 2020 spring open registration

              Open registration at Itawamba Community College has been scheduled for the 2020 spring semester.             Dates and times include Jan. 6 and 7 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the Fulton Campus, Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Jan. 7 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Tupelo Campus. Locations are the David C. Cole Student Services Building at the Fulton Campus and the Student Support Center at the Tupelo Campus.             It is possible to register for spring semester classes through Jan. 14 for full-term traditional classes and January eight-week traditional and eLearning terms; and Jan. 17 for full-term eLearning classes, but a late registration fee of $15 will be assessed. • ICC schedules orientation sessions for students who plan to enroll for the 2021 spring semester

             Itawamba Community College has scheduled orientation sessions for students who plan to enroll for the 2021 spring semester.             Recent high school graduates are required to participate in one of the sessions, which are scheduled for Nov. 18, Dec. 10 and Jan. 6, 7 and 8, by registering at iccms.edu/orientation. Options include the Fulton and Tupelo campuses, and students can attend a session regardless of the location they plan to attend in the spring. However, all students, including adult learners, are invited.             “Among the advantages of attending an orientation session are scheduling classes early and choosing from a wide variety of options, including days, times and instructors and possibly completing the process before graduation from high school,” said Dr. Melissa Haab, dean of enrollment services. “The sessions will also provide an opportunity for adult learners to connect with an adviser and to make the transition to college less intimidating.”             During the spring semester, students may choose from five instructional delivery methods, including face-to-face, face-to-face/online hybrid, face-to-face/ZOOM hybrid, ZOOM only and online.             ICC orientation is mandatory ...

              Itawamba Community College has scheduled open registration for the 2021 spring semester.             Options include Jan. 6 from 4-7 p.m., Jan. 7 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Jan. 8 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Academic and Student Center at the Tupelo Campus; and Jan. 7 and 8 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Advising office on the second floor of the David C. • ICC schedules Preparing for the ACT sessions

  The Continuing Education Department of Itawamba Community College has scheduled several sessions for Preparing for the ACT. All meet on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.             Math and science sessions include Jan. 30, Apr. 10 and May 29. English and reading are offered Jan. 23, Apr. 3 and June 5.             ICC’s ACT prep instructors use intensive classroom review procedures in English, reading, science reasoning and math that focus on strategies for improving scores by three methods: review of all concepts tested, tips for overcoming test anxiety and guides for “’studying smart” that will help improve test-day performance. Instructors effectively communicate techniques to help students perform with confidence. Pre-test and post-test full-length ACT practice tests are administered to measure performance. • ICC schedules three pathway programs to begin Mar. 2 at Belden Center

  Registration is underway at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center for three pathway programs that are scheduled to begin Mar. 2. They include Small Engine Repair, Introduction to Welding and Cutting and Basics of Residential Wiring. Small Engine Repair will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. through Apr. 29. The 16-session program will prepare participants for a career as they develop small engine repair skills in basic maintenance, recoil systems, fuel systems, ignition systems/electrical circuits and disassembling and rebuilding small engines. Successful completion of the program entitles the participant to have an opportunity to obtain an entry-level technician position at an existing small engine repair business or to open his/her own shop. Successful completers will receive information about how to test for the nationally-recognized technician certification exam. The cost of the program is $369. Introduction to Welding and Cutting meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. through Apr. 8.  The class is designed to provide entry-level skills in welding and cutting and to prepare students to do the basic GMAW and SMAW welding jobs that some industries and small businesses require. ...
