They include Small Ensembles, Apr. 9, 7 p.m.; Spring Band, Apr. 11, 6:30 p.m.; Percussion Ensemble, Apr. 16, 7 p.m. and CenterStage, Apr. 24, 7 p.m. Groups included in the Small Ensemble concert are the Rush Hour Saxophone Quartet, Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. Members of the Rush Hour Saxophone Quartet include Dalton Brandon, Addison Clements, Mikey Coleman, Cassidy Edwards, Dexter Fason, Jacob Goodman and Joseph Lewis. Performing with the Brass Ensemble are Mason Bates, Jacob Butler, Joseph Cassler, Kelly Cleveland, Olivia Crowder, Joshua Fernandez, Hunter Johnson, Semaj Jones, Jason Luna, Hannah Palmer, Emanuel Quiroz, Jackson Sibley, Granthan Sullivan, and Emily Welch. Each session will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants must have a photo ID, and 16-/17-year-olds should be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring a withdrawal form from the most recent school attended. Entry into the adult education area is across from the WIN Job Center at ICC-Belden. ICC offers several Healthcare Provider CPR classes Registration is under way for several Healthcare Provider CPR classes at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center. Interested individuals can select from classes offered from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on June 20, July 18, Aug. 1 and 15. Participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis due to a limited number for each class. The class is designed for those who need to know how to perform CPR in a healthcare setting and who deal directly with patients in medical settings, both in-hospital and out-of-hospital. Early Childhood Academy April activities Itawamba Community College’s Early Childhood Academy has scheduled several events for April. An Early Childhood Academy Vision Board Workshop will be Apr. 2 from 6-8 p.m. in room 608 of the Belden Center and Apr. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in room 126 of the Student Support Center at the Tupelo Campus. The two-hour workshop will explain how to reach goals by creating a vision board, which is a collection of pictures, phrases and art outlining goals for the year. ICC schedules Preparing for the ACT sessions The Continuing Education Department of Itawamba Community College has scheduled several sessions for Preparing for the ACT. All meet on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Math and science sessions include Jan. 30, Apr. 10 and May 29. English and reading are offered Jan. 23, Apr. 3 and June 5. ICC’s ACT prep instructors use intensive classroom review procedures in English, reading, science reasoning and math that focus on strategies for improving scores by three methods: review of all concepts tested, tips for overcoming test anxiety and guides for “’studying smart” that will help improve test-day performance. Instructors effectively communicate techniques to help students perform with confidence. Pre-test and post-test full-length ACT practice tests are administered to measure performance.
