• Woody’s featured at ICC’s March Dinner & Demo on March 26

  Itawamba Community College will host its next Dinner & Demo on March 26 at 5:30 p.m., featuring Woody’s as the highlighted restaurant for the month. The limited-seat culinary experience invites guests to enjoy an intimate evening of cooking demonstrations by the residence chef while also dining on a specially curated menu from the featured restaurant. Designed as a monthly food experience, Dinner & Demo offers a unique opportunity to see preparation techniques up close while savoring a full meal in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. The March 26 menu will showcase wild game selections, including duck and bison, offering guests a bold and distinctive dining experience. Additionally, chef demonstrations will include the Bananas Foster which is a well-known Woody's specialty.  Cost for the event is $75 per person or $140 for a couple. Seating is limited. • ICC Dinner Theatre to present “Murder on the Orient Express” March 24 and 26

  Itawamba Community College’s Dinner Theatre will present the classic mystery Murder on the Orient Express on March 24 and March 26 at the ICC Connection Center on the Fulton Campus. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6 p.m. The theatrical performance will follow the meal. Based on the famous Agatha Christie story, Murder on the Orient Express follows world-renowned detective Hercule Poirot as he investigates a murder aboard a luxurious train stranded in the snow. If you love suspense, glamour and a good plot twist, this is the event for you. The question isn’t who did it — it’s who didn’t? The production features ICC drama students in both cast and crew roles. Crew members include Emily W. • Registration underway for March career pathways at ICC-Belden

  Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for two career pathway programs that will begin in March at the Belden Center.               They include Certified Nursing Assistant and Food Management Certification.               Certified Nursing Assistant, which meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m. from March 24-May 28, prepares participants to take the exam to become a CNA. Upon successful completion of the program and examination, nursing assistants can find employment with nursing homes, medical centers, home healthcare providers and clinics. The cost is $526 which includes the required Board License Examination fee.               Food Management Certification will meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., March 24-April 18. During the hands-on, four-week class, students will learn the essential skills needed to thrive in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Included in the curriculum are both ServSafe® Food Manager and Alcohol certifications, menu planning preparation, assistance with and execution of catered events, résumé/interview skills and front- and back-of-the-house operations. • Tomahawk Marching Band Championship returns this weekend at ICC

  The annual competition will bring some of the region's most accomplished marching bands together in Fulton. Bands from across the Mid-South will participate in Itawamba Community College’s Tomahawk Marching Band Championship, Oct. 18, at Eaton Field/Butch Lambert Stadium at the Fulton Campus. Due to the threat of potential severe weather, the competition will begin at 8 a.m. The annual event provides an opportunity for bands across the Mid-South to perform in both a competitive and educational environment. Adjudicators from across the nation will critique bands, color guard and percussion with the same caption-based criteria used in the MHSAA State Marching Band Championships, according to ICC All-American Band Director and Fine Arts Division Chair Ryan Todd. • ICC to host Tomahawk Marching Band Competition

  Bands across the Mid-South will participate in Itawamba Community College’s Tomahawk Marching Band Championship, Oct. 19, at Eaton Field/Butch Lambert Stadium at the Fulton Campus. School classifications 1A-2A will begin at 10:45 a.m. with awards at 2 p.m., and 4A-5A will begin at 3 p.m. with awards at 8:30 p.m. Bands will perform in both a competitive and educational environment. Adjudicators from across the nation will critique bands, color guard and percussion with the same caption-based criteria used in the MHSAA State Marching Band Championships. Adjudication captions will include General Effect, Music Performance, Ensemble Visual Performance, Ensemble General Effect, Visual Music Performance, Individual Visual Performance and Individual Color Guard Percussion. Bands that are participating include Hamilton, Smithville, Mantachie, Bruce, East Webster, Eupora, Booneville, Amory, Hatley, Aberdeen, Nettleton, Kosciusko, Caledonia, North Pontotoc, South Pontotoc, Itawamba, Ripley, Pontotoc, New Albany, Saltillo, Columbus, New Hope, Lafayette, Oxford, Olive Branch, Lewisburg and Tupelo as well as a performance by the Itawamba Community College All-American Band.
