General 0 Itawamba Community College’s Brandi McCraw and Stacey Hughes, both of Fulton, have earned Quality Matters Certification from the Mississippi Virtual Community College. McCraw has been at ICC for nine years as a full-time employee and is currently serving as eLearning instructional coordinator/adviser on the Tupelo Campus. Her activities include Title IX confidential contact for the Tupelo Campus; participating member of the Mississippi eLearning Association and co-chair of the supportive services committee; graduate of ICC’s Leadership Development Institute and Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy; and member of several ICC committees including eLearning, QEP marketing, professional development and instructional policies. She is enrolled in the Doctorate of Philosophy in Community College Leadership program at Mississippi State University. As part of her position at ICC, McCraw designs and provides required professional training to online faculty and is responsible for updating and maintaining basic and intermediate Canvas training courses for new online instructors, traditional faculty and dual credit instructors. A full-time ICC employee for six years, Hughes currently is the eLearning operational specialist on the Tupelo Campus. She is a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute at ICC, where she is a member of the professional development committee and the Association of Educational Office Personnel. Hughes is expected to earn the bachelor’s degree from Mississippi University for Women in May 2018. She is married to Jody Hughes. Hughes is responsible for tracking professional development for all college employees and establishing and maintaining all ICC professional development offerings for spring and fall professional development days. She also assists the eLearning instructional coordinator with registering and delivering the required professional development for online faculty. Quality Matters Certification is a research-based, nationally recognized design model, which has been adopted by the MSVCC. QM is a collegial quality assurance organization designed to assist in providing feedback on course design, national standards and research-based best practices and promotion of continuous quality improvement. In addition, Quality Matters provides robust and intensive courses in which several from the consortium have successfully completed and received certification. Related Articles ICC's Baldwin appointed as community college representative for Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure and Development Itawamba Community College Dean of Career Education Dylan Baldwin of Pontotoc has been appointed as Community College representative for the Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure and Development. He will serve an unexpired term as a Licensure Commission Member representing Mississippi’s First Congressional District. Baldwin earned the associate’s degree from ICC, the bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and the master’s degree from Mississippi State University. He joined the ICC faculty in 2013 as Collision Repair Technology instructor. His honors include 2023 Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy, 2017 Mississippi Community College Board Leadership Academy and multiple ASE and ICAR certifications. From 2012-13, he was an instructor at the Tupelo Career and Technical Center. Baldwin and his wife, Monica, are the parents of an eight-year-old daughter, Mia. ICC to offer ServSafe Certification training at Belden Center ServSafe® Certification Training will be offered Mar. 23 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The Mississippi Department of Health requires this certification for at least one person in each establishment in which a food permit is required.
