General 0 Registration is under way for intersession and summer terms at both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses of Itawamba Community College. Intersession classes begin May 13 and end with final examinations on May 24. The summer schedule includes open registration for traditional first summer/full-term classes, online full-term, and first and second four-week classes, May 24, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Student Affairs offices on both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses. Second term day class registration will be June 28. Traditional day first and full-term classes begin May 28, and online full-term and first four-week classes, June 3. Prior to open registration, students can register in the Student Affairs office in the David C. Cole Student Services Building on the Fulton Campus or in the Student Affairs office in the Student Support Center at the Tupelo Campus. COVID-19 continues to impact ICC; forces changes in commencement and summer classes The COVID-19 virus continues to impact Itawamba Community College’s normal operations and schedule of activities. Among the latest are the 2020 commencement ceremony and summer classes. As advised by the Center for Disease Control and the Mississippi Department of Health and after much deliberation, ICC is postponing the May commencement ceremony and is exploring options “to celebrate the accomplishments of our outstanding graduates,” according to ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. In addition, ICC is continuing its summer schedule, but will transition all courses to an online format until it is safe to conduct face-to-face classes. Registration is currently underway for intersession classes, which begin May 11, and for traditional first summer/full-term, eLearning full-term and first and second four-week classes. Traditional first and full-term classes begin May 26, and eLearning, June 1. “The decisions that are being made are tough and may not be ideal,” Allen said, “but we continue to make the safety of our students, employees and our communities a priority.” Register now for second summer term Individuals who wish to attend second summer session classes at Itawamba Community College can register online now or take advantage of open registration at both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses. In addition, a four-week eLearning term is an option. Open registration for the second summer term is from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., June 28, in the Registrar/Admissions office at the Fulton Campus or the Student Support Center at the Tupelo Campus. Classes begin July 1, and the last day to add classes is July 3. The eLearning four-week term classes begin July 1, which is also the last day to add classes. ICC's enhanced Summer Edge program offers tuition free up to six hours and waived fees Itawamba Community College is continuing its Summer Edge program, and the enhanced version will offer all students an opportunity to take up to six credit hours (two three-credit hour classes) with tuition and all fees waived. Classes include both online and face-to-face. “Itawamba Community College is committed to student success and has worked diligently over the past two years to ensure all students are receiving the resources they need to be successful,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “We feel that this is a significant opportunity to reengage/engage students who continue to experience economic barriers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
