General 0 Itawamba Community College has rescheduled its 2019-20 cheerleader and mascot tryouts for 4 p.m., Mar. 22, on the Fulton Campus in the Fitness Center gym. Tryouts will include the all-female cheer squad, coed cheer squad and the mascot, Chief Winnemaw. Clinics are scheduled for 4-6 p.m., Mar. 19 and 20 in the Fitness Center gym on the Fulton Campus. The cost is $30, and checks and money orders should be made payable to Itawamba Community College. All participants are required to attend both sessions, according to cheer sponsor Evie Storey. For tryouts, coed cheer participants will be required to perform a cheer, the ICC Fight Song, five partner stunts and standing and running tumbling. The cheer and ICC Fight Song will be taught to participants at the clinics. Those who try out for mascot, Chief Winnemaw, will be required to perform a 1-2 minute skit using music and props. Related Articles ICC sets 2023-24 cheerleader tryouts Itawamba Community College has scheduled its 2023-24 cheerleader tryouts for May 26 from 6-8 p.m. and May 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Fulton Campus in the Carrie Ball-Williamson Recreational Center gym. Tryouts will include both the co-ed and all-women cheer squads. A tryout clinic will be May 21 from 1-4 p.m. The $30 cost includes both the clinic and tryouts. Open gym practices, which are free, will be from 4-6 p.m., May 1, 15, 22 and 29. For tryouts, cheer participants will be required to perform a cheer, the ICC Fight Song, stunts and standing and running tumbling. The cheer and ICC Fight Song will be taught to participants at the clinics. The first team meeting is May 27 at 3 p.m., and parents are encouraged to attend. Clinic dates will be Mar. 27 and 29 and Apr. 2 and 5 from 3-5 p.m. in the intramural gym located in the Fitness Center at the Fulton Campus. The cost is $40 for all four clinics for which attendance is mandatory. In order to try out for ICC’s 2017 cheer squad, participants must be able to perform a back handspring. Tryouts are scheduled for Apr. 6 at 3 p.m. All clinics and tryouts are closed to the public, according to Lamb. Only those participating in the clinics and tryouts will be allowed in the facility.
