General 0 Elizabeth Adam of Saltillo, recent graduate of Itawamba Community College’s paralegal technology program, achieved the second highest score in the nation on the NALS Accredited Legal Professional Exam. “Going back to school as an adult can be challenging,” Adam said, but hard work and perseverance along with the support I received from the ICC faculty allowed me to achieve my dream of graduating college.” At ICC she was a member of the Legal Education Association and Phi Theta Kappa. She is the daughter of Sharilyn Adam and the late Charles Adam, and she has one son, Austin Bailey, 15. Established in 1929 by Eula Mae Jett, incorporated as the National Association of Legal Secretaries in 1949 and renamed NALS, the association for legal professionals in 1999, the association has always been a leader in the legal support profession. Some of the very first legal assistants in the profession were members of NALS, and today more than half of NALS’ membership is comprised of legal assistants and paralegals.
