Dempsey selected as Mississippi delegate

Dr. Kristi Dempsey of Spruce Pine, Ala., associate dean/director for the Associate Degree and Practical Nursing programs at Itawamba Community College, has been selected as one of two Mississippi delegates to attend the American Nurses Association 2017 membership assembly in Washington, D.C.

The ANA Membership Assembly is the governing and official voting body of the American Nurses Association. It identifies and discusses issues of concern to members and provides direction to the ANA board of directors.

Dempsey earned the associate’s degree from Northwest Shoals Community College, the bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama and both the master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Alabama.

Her career includes five years at ICC and a nurse for 19 years. Her memberships have included the Alabama Board of Nurses, Mississippi Board of Nursing, Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nurses Association, National Organization for Associate Degree Nurses, University of Alabama Alumni Association, National League for Nursing, Mississippi Council of Deans and Directors and Mississippi Council Associate Degree Nursing Programs and a past member of Sigma Theta Tau.
