• Drive-thru diploma pick up cancelled June 9 due to inclement weather; June 10 and 11 pickup times available

              Although the traditional ceremony has been postponed, members of Itawamba Community College’s Class of 2020 will have an opportunity to pick up their diplomas June 10 in Tupelo and June 11 in Fulton. The pickup date originally scheduled for the Tupelo Campus on June 9 has been cancelled due to inclement weather.             Drive-thru pickup locations and times are June 10, Health Science Education Center, Tupelo Campus, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. and June 11, Cypress Pavilion, Fulton Campus, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.             Students must present their student ID or driver’s license, and no third-party pick up will be allowed. Members of Phi Theta Kappa can pick up stoles and tassels at either location. The $35 is payable in cash with the correct change or completed check. All Honors College students must pick up their medallions at the Tupelo Campus on June 10 or the Fulton Campus, June 11.             All passengers in vehicles are encouraged to wear masks.             Diplomas will be mailed to graduates who cannot pick them up on the available dates.             ...

• ICC Food Management Certification class set to begin June 3 at Belden Center

  Registration is underway for a Food Management Certification class that will begin June 3 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center.                 The class will meet Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. through June 27.                 Highlights of the hands-on course include both ServSafe® Food Manager and Alcohol Certification, menu planning/preparation, assistance/participation in execution of catered events, résumé/interview skills and both front- and back-of-the-house operations.                 Tuition assistance could be available for those who qualify.                 For more information or to register, call Christy Scheuer, instructor, at (662) 407-1505 or email acscheuer@iccms.edu or pathways@iccms.edu.
• ICC releases reopening plan for fall; classes to begin as originally scheduled

              Itawamba Community College announced plans today to open its doors for classes for the fall semester on Aug. 17 as originally scheduled as well as provided more details regarding educational delivery methods, student activities and athletics.             The scheduled opening is part of the recommendations from the college’s 21-member Reopening Task Force, which was appointed to examine campus operations, sanitation, student activities, facilities, residence halls, academics and athletics.             “At the onset of COVID-19 in Mississippi, we suspended nearly all in-person operations at ICC, including face-to-face instruction,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “This was a challenging decision; however, we were prepared for the transition to online instruction due to our nationally-recognized eLearning Department and our dedicated faculty. We have since shifted to returning our employees to our facilities, while never ceasing to impede the successes of our past, current and potential students. • ICC schedules Forklift Operator Training class, June 1

  Registration is underway at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center for a Forklift Operator Training class, which will meet June 1 from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.             Highlights include OSHA safety instruction, forklift simulator practice, safety check protocol and hands-on driving, loading and unloading operation. The class is limited to seven participants.
