Career Center, General 0 Itawamba Community College celebrated the relocation of its Aberdeen adult education classes with an open house, Nov. 14. Aberdeen Mayor Charles Scott expressed appreciation to Teresa Reid, owner of the Aspire Group, the new location, for providing building space and computers for the adult education class. He said that the partnership will provide more opportunities for the people of Aberdeen. Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook agreed, saying he is “very interested in the program, especially providing opportunities for inmates.” “The transition to this center not only creates but expands partnerships, providing another location in Monroe County,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. ICC President Allen opens fall 2025 convocation with challenge to 'create a masterpiece;' new faculty/new roles announced Itawamba Community College President Dr. Jay Allen challenged faculty and staff to “create a masterpiece” during his remarks at the fall 2025 convocation Wednesday at the Fulton Campus. “Each year when we gather for convocation, I’m reminded that our work here is more than a list of tasks, programs and budgets – it’s a living, evolving canvas. And this year, our theme reminds us of ‘The Power of One: The Big Picture Begins with You!’ Think of ICC as a great mural in progress. Across its expanse are the colors, textures, patterns and decades of service – brushstrokes laid down by those who came before us, strokes that define our heritage and our foundation.” Those who attended had an opportunity to paint a section of an art piece in the lobby. ICC, The W sign MOU to provide educational opportunities for students pursuing sspecific career education programs with desire to earn bachelor's degree Itawamba Community College and Mississippi University for Women signed a memorandum of understanding today [Sept. 19] to provide educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in specific career education programs with a desire to eventually earn a bachelor’s degree. The agreement establishes a pathway by which students earning an appropriate Associate of Applied Science degree from ICC may complete a baccalaureate degree at The W. According to the agreement, both institutions will work together to enroll students in degree completion programs for ICC’s career education graduates. Both colleges will advise and encourage ICC students, alumni and constituents to promote these programs to each institution’s stakeholders and throughout the local community college district. The pathways will provide for students in certain degree areas to transfer up to 90 credit hours to The W after graduating from ICC. Included are computer networking and cybersecurity, computer programming, business and marketing management, hospitality management, paralegal and construction management. ICC to enroll new adult education students with sessions July 14, 16 Itawamba Community College will enroll new adult education students in morning/afternoon and evening classes at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.), July 14. Registration for morning classes, which are taught Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-noon, and afternoon classes (Monday through Thursday, 1-4 p.m.) will be at 9 a.m. for individuals 18 years of age and older. Evening classes are taught Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30-8:30 p.m., and those 18 years of age and older can register July 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Individuals who participate in the come-and-go session should arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. Those who are 16-17 years old cannot enroll in evening classes at the Belden Center unless they bring documentation from an employer that includes a schedule that conflicts with day classes, according to Audra Perry, director of Adult Education at ICC.
