• ICC offers new course in Enhanced Forklift Operator Training

              Itawamba Community College will offer a new course, Enhanced Forklift Operator Training, Dec. 15 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Belden Center.             Topics include the requirements of the OSHA Powered Industrial Truck Regulation 29 CFR 1910.178, safe powered industrial truck operation and how forklifts work, identification of operating hazards as well as the general principles of safe operation and how to properly inspect and maintain a forklift. No previous experience in forklift operation is required.             According to ICC Pathway Coordinator Josh Gammill, “This eight-hour class will provide students the opportunity to receive hands-on training on three different classifications of forklifts: Standup Rider (Class 1), Order Selector (Class 2) and LP Gas Powered Sit-Down Forklift (Class 4).”             Cost of the course is $85.             For more information or to preregister, call (662) 407-1500 or email rakelly@iccms.edu.
• ICC offers forklift operator certification at Belden Center

  Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College’s Belden Center for an upcoming forklift operator certification course. The class will meet from 8 a.m. to noon April 13. Participants will receive OSHA safety instruction and gain practical experience through forklift simulator practice, safety check protocol, hands-on driving and loading and unloading operations. The class is limited to seven participants. • Drive-thru diploma pick up cancelled June 9 due to inclement weather; June 10 and 11 pickup times available

              Although the traditional ceremony has been postponed, members of Itawamba Community College’s Class of 2020 will have an opportunity to pick up their diplomas June 10 in Tupelo and June 11 in Fulton. The pickup date originally scheduled for the Tupelo Campus on June 9 has been cancelled due to inclement weather.             Drive-thru pickup locations and times are June 10, Health Science Education Center, Tupelo Campus, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. and June 11, Cypress Pavilion, Fulton Campus, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.             Students must present their student ID or driver’s license, and no third-party pick up will be allowed. Members of Phi Theta Kappa can pick up stoles and tassels at either location. The $35 is payable in cash with the correct change or completed check. All Honors College students must pick up their medallions at the Tupelo Campus on June 10 or the Fulton Campus, June 11.             All passengers in vehicles are encouraged to wear masks.             Diplomas will be mailed to graduates who cannot pick them up on the available dates.             ...
