Registration underway for ICC pathways, continuing education classes Registration is underway for several pathways/continuing education classes that will begin soon at Itawamba Community College. They include Certified Nursing Assistant, Beginning Sign Language II, Microsoft Excel for Beginners, ServSafe, ACT Prep and Forklift Operator Training. Certified Nursing Assistant meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m., Mar. 20-May 24. The program prepares participants to take the exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Upon successful completion of the program and the exam, nursing assistants may find employment with nursing homes, medical centers, home healthcare providers and clinics. Becoming a CNA provides an excellent foundation for those who want to advance in the nursing profession. Beginning Sign Language II, which meets Mondays from 6-9 p.m., Mar. 20-Apr. 17, includes the non-verbal method of communication for the deaf and hearing-impaired. The student book is included in the fee. Microsoft Excel for Beginners meets Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Mar. 21-Apr. 18. The class includes learning how to design, create and edit spreadsheets and basic charts, insert formulas, designate ranges and sort data. ServSafe Certification training will meet Mar. 25 from 8 ... Registration underway for January pathways classes at ICC Registration is underway for several pathways classes that will begin in January at Itawamba Community College. They include Business Office Specialist, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT Basic, Food Service, Enhanced Forklift Operator, Google IT Support Certificate, Medical Administrative Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Phlebotomy Technician. Business Office Specialist will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m., Jan. 11-May 5. It is designed for students to develop basic office, communication and computer technology skills. Through intensive lab instruction, students will have the opportunity to attain an Intuit Quickbooks® certification and receive training and instruction to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification for Microsoft Excel and Word. Additional instruction and training include performance of technical office tasks, basic math, fundamentals of bookkeeping and human resource management. Certified Nursing Assistant will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m., Jan. 10-Mar. 16. Participants will be prepared to take the exam to become a CNA, which affords opportunities for employment in nursing homes, medical centers, home healthcare providers and clinics as well as an excellent foundation for those who ... Registration underway for three ICC continuing education classes that begin soon at the Belden Center Registration is continuing for several continuing education classes that begin soon at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center. They include Autoimmune Nutrition, Oct. 12; and Beginning Cake Decorating and Basic Computer Skills, both Oct. 16. Autoimmune Nutrition, which meets Thursday nights for six weeks from 6-7:30 p.m., includes tailoring the diet to manage an overactive immune system, the definition of autoimmune disorder, dealing with increased sugar consumption and foods that heal. Cost is $45. Basic Computer Skills is for the computer operator beginner. Included are basic operation instruction, Microsoft Word and such functions as email. No keyboarding will be taught in the class which meets Mondays and Tuesdays for four weeks. The cost is $85. Beginning Cake Decorating meets each Monday night for four weeks. The $125 fee includes the cost of supplies and the Wilton decorating kit, which participants will keep. Limited seating is available for all classes.
