General 0 Auditions for Itawamba Community College’s Choir and CenterStage are scheduled for noon-3 p.m., Apr. 22, in the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center complex on the Fulton Campus. Additional times include CenterStage band, 1 p.m.; and CenterStage dancers, 3-4 p.m. Those interested in the CenterStage crew can interview the first week of classes in August. CenterStage, which is ICC’s pop show group featuring vocals, choreography and a live band, represents the college at numerous public functions and assists in recruiting in area high schools. Not only do the members of the group receive training and experience in the performing arts, but they also learn the value of working together as a team. Related Articles Choir, CenterStage auditions set for Apr. 18 Auditions for Itawamba Community College’s choir and CenterStage for 2019 will be Apr. 18 in the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center at the Fulton Campus. Times include choir, chamber and vocal major auditions at 1 p.m., and CenterStage auditions at 3 p.m. Students who are interested in choir and chamber singers will be vocalized, asked to match pitches and possibly sing a hymn such as “Amazing Grace.” In addition, those who are interested in chamber singers will be asked to sight-read a small piece of music. Students interested in majoring in voice must bring a prepared piece of music with either a track or music for an accompanist (if necessary), or they can make personal preparations for an accompanist. Vocalists who are interested in CenterStage will be required to audition for the choir. Students will perform a prepared song of their choice, vocalize on various scales and sight read. The event is part of a week-long celebration of the arts at ICC. All-American Band auditions The Itawamba Community College All-American Band has scheduled auditions for Apr. 13 at the Fulton Campus. Locations and times include Drum Major (W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center), 2 p.m.; Color Guard (Fitness Center gym) and Indianettes (W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center), both at 3:30 p.m. Drum major auditions will include salute, two-to-three minutes of routine demonstrating drum major abilities, marching ability, vocal commands and conducting various time signatures. Those who audition for color guard must demonstrate basic maneuvers on equipment (spins, tosses, etc.), marching ability and the ability to learn and perform a short flag routine taught at the audition. Participants must bring their own flag. Indianette participants must demonstrate flexibility (splits, kicks, etc.) and the ability to learn and perform a short routine taught at the audition.
