Career Center, General 0 Registration is underway at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center for an E1 – electricity class that is scheduled for June 6-9 from 7 am.-3:30 p.m. The class provides instruction in the basic laws, formulas and principles of electrical theory. Topics covered are AC and DC voltage, current and resistance measuring techniques, electrical safety in the work environment, basic electrical circuits, electrical measurements, circuit analysis, inductance and capacitance, combination circuits, transformers and multimeters. Introduction to Python, which meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for five weeks, begins May 15. Designed for beginners, the course provides instruction in the core concepts of Python, and students will be able to understand and complete basic programming functions. Python is a programming language that is used in data analytics, artificial intelligence and Web programming. Speed Typing meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for five weeks beginning May 16. The instructor-led, interactive class provides the best tips and strategies to enhance typing skills to improve speed to enhance employee effectiveness, regardless of career pathway. ICC schedules adult education orientation for day, night Belden Center new students, July 22 Itawamba Community College will enroll new day adult education students at the Belden Center, July 22. Individuals 18 years of age and older will begin at 9 a.m. and 16/17-year-old students, 1 p.m. An orientation session is also scheduled the same day at 4:30 p.m. for those 0f all ages who plan to attend night classes at the same location. Participants must have a photo ID, and 16/17-year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring a withdrawal form from the most recent school attended.
