General 0 Registration is underway at Itawamba Community College for a Sign Language Basic 1 class that will begin Aug. 21 at the Belden Center. The class will meet Mondays through Sept. 25 from 6-9 p.m. It is designed for those who have little or no experience in sign language but want to learn the basics. Participants will learn the non-verbal method of communication for the deaf and hearing impaired. The class is a prerequisite for ASL Basic 2. Cost is $65, which includes the student book. Introduction to Python, which meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for five weeks, begins May 15. Designed for beginners, the course provides instruction in the core concepts of Python, and students will be able to understand and complete basic programming functions. Python is a programming language that is used in data analytics, artificial intelligence and Web programming. Speed Typing meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for five weeks beginning May 16. The instructor-led, interactive class provides the best tips and strategies to enhance typing skills to improve speed to enhance employee effectiveness, regardless of career pathway.
