General 0 Twelve Itawamba Community College sophomores have been selected as members of the prestigious Hall of Fame for 2018-19. They include Jake Kirkpatrick of Aberdeen; Laura Buskirk of Amory; Matthew Burrows of Dorsey; Brandon Adair, Reagan Newton, both of Guntown; Carter Wood of Mantachie; Ben Seay of Mooreville; Nikki Bullock of New Albany; Makaela Dickerson of Smithville; Gregory Parker Anderson, Karlee Avery and Anna John Hand, all of Tupelo. Adair is majoring in business marketing at ICC where he is a member of the Indian Delegation and student worker. His honors include president of the Beta Tau Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and vice president of the Tupelo Campus Student Government Association. Adair is also a youth group member and leader for The Loft youth group at Anchor Holds in Blue Springs. His parents are Mary Adair and Mike and Daphne Adair. Anderson is vice president of the Computer Programming and Networking Association at ICC. His honors include dean’s list. He is majoring in Computer Programming Technology. Anderson’s other activities include bass guitar player at his church. He is the son of Brenda Anderson and Larry Anderson. Avery is a general studies/pre-nursing major at ICC where she is a member of the Indian Delegation and co-vice president of service for the Beta Tau Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Her other activities include small group leader for seventh grade girls and supervises three-year-olds at The Orchard where she will be an intern this summer. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Joy Avery. Bullock is a member of Phi Theta Kappa at ICC, where she is a president’s list scholar. She is majoring in Surgical Technology/applied science. Her parents are Vicky Swords and David Frazier. She is married to Billy Bullock. Burrows is a member of the Indian Delegation, Baptist Student Union and Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa officer, LIN Report producer and orientation leader at ICC, where he is majoring in secondary education – social studies. His honors include president’s list, recipient of the Political Science award and All-Mississippi Academic Team. Burrows’ other activities are coach of the Dorsey Attendance Center’s Scholars’ Bowl team and usher at Morning View Baptist Church. He is the son of Chris and Donna Burrows. Buskirk is majoring in elementary education at ICC where she is a member of the Indian Delegation, Future Educators Association and Baptist Student Union, Student Government Association secretary and orientation leader. Her honors include Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta and sophomore Homecoming maid. Buskirk is a member of the Okolona First Baptist Church and member of the youth group at Amory First Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Danny and Kym Buskirk. Dickerson is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Indian Delegation, Sigma Kappa Delta, Honors Program, orientation leader, student worker and participant in intramural sports at ICC. Her honors include HEADWAE recipient, All-Mississippi Academic Team and Coca-Cola Leader of Promise. Dickerson’s other activities are film internship and member of Amory Church of Christ. She is the daughter of Tim and Jennifer Dickerson. Hand is majoring in Associate Degree Nursing at ICC, where she is a member of MOSA. Her community activities include volunteer at Helping Hands and for the Family Resource Center Beds for Kids and a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church adult choir. She is the daughter of Joy and George Hand. Kirkpatrick is a chemical engineer major at ICC, where he is a soccer player. His honors include Phi Theta Kappa and recipient of the math department award. He is the son of John and Christie Kirkpatrick. Newton is majoring in elementary education at ICC. She is a member of the Baptist Student Union, Future Educators Association, Phi Theta Kappa and Indian Delegation. Newton’s other activities include serving as a Mississippi Baptist summer missionary in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Her parents are Brian and Leigh Anne Newton. Seay is a nursing major. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a former baseball player at ICC, where he is a president’s list scholar. His other activities include Auburn Baptist Church. He is the son of Craig and Stacy Seay and Heather Fisher and is married to Madison Seay. Wood is a sports management major at ICC where he is a member of the All-American Band and resident assistant for Chickasaw Hall. His additional activities include college group at Mantachie First Baptist Church and the Food Pantry. He is the son of Millie and Chuck Wood. ICC selects 2020 Alumnus of the Year, Athletic Hall of Fame inductees Itawamba Community College has selected its Alumnus of the Year and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for 2020. The honorees include Jim Mounce of Tupelo, Alumnus of the Year, and Kenneth “Kebo” Davis of Okolona and Tyson Lee of Germantown, Tenn., Athletic Hall of Fame. A native of Ecru, Mounce is a 1964 graduate of Itawamba Junior College. During his two years, he was a member of the football team, the baseball team, sophomore class president and class favorite, cutest. His educational background also includes the bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi; juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law and the master’s degree from Bellevue University. From 1969-85, Mounce practiced law in Tupelo, and from 1985-2000, he chief operating officer for Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society and president, CEO and chairman of the board for Woodmen Life from 2000 until he retired in 2009. Currently, he is serving on the boards of Sanctuary Hospice and the Itawamba Community College Foundation, Inc. and is a member of Harrisburg ... They include Jolie Anna Bishop, Ally Thompson, both of Amory; Addison Pletzke of Clinton; Jordan Allen of Jackson; Whitt Willis of Madison; Michaela Heitger of Mooreville; Lucy Vaughn of Nettleton; Lexie Kent of New Albany; Sara Francis Kitchens of Pontotoc; William Gibson, Gabrielle Pearce, both of Tupelo; and Aubrey Eaton of Woodland. At ICC, Allen is a member of the women’s soccer team, STEM Club, Trading Post, Phi Theta Kappa and Honors College; ’23 Orientation Leader; Instructional Support Leader and Chemistry II tutor for NASA (Mississippi Space Grant Consortium). Her other activities include assistance in the nursery and sing in the choir at New Jerusalem Church in Jackson. ICC’s Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes, coaches or individuals who have excelled or those who have made major contributions to intercollegiate athletics while attending or employed by ICC. Athletic Hall of Fame inductees must have been out of school at least 10 years. Additional criteria to be considered are accomplishments and support of ICC. The two inductees or a family member if the honoree is deceased must attend the recognition ceremony. Nominations can be made by any ICC alumnus.
