Mid-South bands to participate in Tomahawk Marching Band Championship at ICC Bands from across the Mid-South will participate in Itawamba Community College’s Tomahawk Marching Band Championship, Oct. 14, at Eaton Field/Butch Lambert Stadium at the Fulton Campus. Competition will begin at 10:15 a.m. The event will provide an opportunity for bands across the Mid-South to perform in both a competitive and educational environment. Adjudicators from across the nation will critique bands, color guard and percussion with the same caption-based criteria used in the MHSAA State Marching Band Championships, according to ICC All-American Band Director Ryan Todd. Among the bands participating include Baldwyn High School, Booneville High School, Bruce High School, Calhoun City High School, Center Hill High School, DeSoto Central High School, East Webster High School, Eupora High School, Hamilton High School, Hatley High School, Hoover (Ala.) The Itawamba Community College All-American Band will ... All-American Band auditions The Itawamba Community College All-American Band has scheduled auditions for Apr. 13 at the Fulton Campus. Locations and times include Drum Major (W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center), 2 p.m.; Color Guard (Fitness Center gym) and Indianettes (W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center), both at 3:30 p.m. Drum major auditions will include salute, two-to-three minutes of routine demonstrating drum major abilities, marching ability, vocal commands and conducting various time signatures. Those who audition for color guard must demonstrate basic maneuvers on equipment (spins, tosses, etc.), marching ability and the ability to learn and perform a short flag routine taught at the audition. Participants must bring their own flag. Indianette participants must demonstrate flexibility (splits, kicks, etc.) and the ability to learn and perform a short routine taught at the audition.
