ICC sets Unity programs, Feb. 19

           Itawamba Community College’s Student Government Associations and Student Activities have scheduled Celebration of Unity programs at both the Fulton and Tupelo campuses, Feb. 19.

            The Tupelo Campus program will be noon in the student presentation room of the Student Support Center, and the Fulton Campus event will be at 7 p.m. in the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center auditorium.

            Robert Solomon of Tupelo, ICC’s director of admissions/registrar, will be the speaker for the Tupelo Campus program. He is a native of Savannah, Ga. and a product of the Chatham County School System. After graduating from Savannah High School, he attended Tuskegee University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and later, the master’s degree from Troy State University in human resource management. Currently he is pursuing the doctoral degree in business administration with a concentration in leadership from Walden University. Solomon also attended Greater Mount Calvary Bible College and is an ordained minister. His background also includes service as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and a dean for academic affairs with Savannah Technical College. His memberships include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is married to Linda Solomon.

            The Fulton Campus speaker will be ICC alumnus Dee Stegall of Smithville, who is currently completing work toward his bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations at Mississippi State University where he serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Student Government Association. A graduate of Smithville High School, Stegall earned the associate’s degree from ICC, where he was a resident assistant, co-founder of the L.I.N. Report, announcer for the baseball team, president of the Fulton Campus Student Government Association and a member of the Baptist Student Union leadership team.

            Both programs are free and open to the public.
