ICC to present 'A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a twist, Mar. 27-28

Itawamba Community College will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Mar. 27 and 28 at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center auditorium on the Fulton Campus.

The dinner theatre will begin with a meal at 6:30 p.m. followed by the show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 for both or $10 for the show only.

According to director Dr. Laurie McBride, “The production is a fun 1970s infused version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” with a groovy twist. It focuses on runaway lovers who get mixed up thanks to some magical potions. Disco lights, 1970s music and light sabers add to the experience.”

Members of the cast include Stephanie Riddle (Snug/Fairy) of Aberdeen; Kylie Long (Quince) of Eldridge, Ala.; Khali Dilworth (Helena/Bottom); Emily Hudson (Starling) and also serving as stage manager of Fulton; Tierney Johnson (Hermia) of Golden; Kilee Webster (Philostrate/Robin Goodfellow) of Guin, Ala.; Jalynn Black (Egeus/Snout/Fairy) of McCool; Lela Waites of Moody, Ala. (Lysander); Cheridy Brown (Flute/Fairy), Arabella Castleman (Hippolyta/Titania), Buddy Ferguson (Theseus), all of Pontotoc; and Eli Owens (Demetrius/Oberon) of Tupelo. Additional crew members are Olivia Youngblood, publicity manager, of Oxford; Kassandra Ramirez, light operator, and Zoey Tether, sound operator, both of Pontotoc; and Paula Elaine Garcia, prop manager, of Tupelo.
