General 1 Phi Theta Kappa is the academic honor society of two-year colleges that recognizes and encourages their students’ academic achievement and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership and service. At commencement, Phi Theta Kappa members wear the approved stole and tassel, distinguishing them as scholars and leaders at the College and in their communities. To purchase a stole and tassel, members must contact either advisor Betsy White on the Tupelo Campus, ecwhite@iccms.edu or 620.5033; or advisor Robin Lowe on the Fulton Campus, rmlowe@iccms.edu or 862.8166. The cost is $35, cash or check. The deadline to order is 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. Stoles and tassels must be picked up by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3. Note that stoles and tassels will not be available for order after April 12 and will not be available at commencement practice or commencement. Related Articles ICC's Bowers receives 10-year service pin from Phi Theta Kappa Jenny Bowers of Tupelo, English instructor and Phi Theta Kappa adviser for the Beta Tau Sigma chapter at Itawamba Community College, has been honored by the society for 10-years of service. “We at Phi Theta Kappa owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our chapter advisers whose dedicated service is responsible for the success of our local chapters,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. “Advisers are truly the lifeblood of our organization, and we are delighted to recognize them for their years of service. ICC's Upsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa receives multiple regional awards The Upsilon Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Itawamba Community College received multiple awards at the organization’s Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Conference, Mar. 2-3, at Mississippi State University. They include, all for 2023, Horizon (advisers Robin Lowe of Amory, Jay Humphries of Vina, Ala. and Bradley Howard of Saltillo); Distinguished Chapter Officer (Lexi Tabbs of Red Bay, Ala.); Distinguished Adviser Team (Robin Lowe, Jay Humphries, Bradley Howard); Order of the Golden Key (Lexi Tabbs); Honors in Action second place; Theme 6 for Honors in Action, The Nostalgia of Play; Regional Reporter Emory Reinhard of Mantachie; (Distinguished Chapter Finalist (ranked sixth in Region) and Five Star Chapter.
