2018 ICC Hall of Fame

            Eleven Itawamba Community College sophomores have been selected as members of the prestigious Hall of Fame for 2017-18.

            They include Jeannette Houston of Booneville; Rina Leigh of Columbus; Collin Hamric, Shadow Martin, both of Guntown; Jenna Hull of Hamilton; Hunter Holley of Nettleton; Rick Campbell of Pontotoc; Lora Beth Barrett, Madison Nanney, both of Saltillo; Austin Bailey and Karla Morales, both of Tupelo.

            Bailey is majoring in business administration with an emphasis in managerial finance at ICC, where he is a member of both Phi Theta Kappa and the Baptist Student Union and a Writing Center tutor. His honors include PTK vice president of public relations and president’s and deans’ list. He is the son of Harvey and Teresa Bailey.

            Barrett is majoring in elementary education at ICC. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and vice president of leadership for the Beta Tau Sigma Chapter. Her honors are president’s and deans’ list and the recipient of several scholarships including academic, Yates, John Paul Frerer and St. James Ladies Club. Her parents are Leah and Joey Barrett.

            Campbell is majoring in biology at ICC where he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. His honors include ACT initiative scholarship and president’s list. Campbell is also the United States Powerlifting Association Drug-Free World Champion. He is the son of Ricky and Tessie Campbell.

            Hamric is a member of the Computer Programming and Networking Association at ICC where he also is a student worker. His honors include member of Phi Theta Kappa, Horatio Alger Honor Society Scholar, president’s and dean’s list and recipient of the leadership scholarship. Hamric is majoring in computer networking and programming. His parents are Brenda and Leslie Hamric.

            Holley is a biological sciences major at ICC, where he is a member of the Indian Delegation, Phi Theta Kappa, Baptist Student Union and Science Club and the Student Government Association (freshman year). His honors include president of the Upsilon Sigma Chapter of PTK, Mr. ICC, president’s list, Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education, All-Mississippi Academic Team, HEADWAE recipient, Natural Science division award for physics, ACT scholarship and Jack Kent Cooke semifinalist. He is the son of Billy Holley and Melesa Rakestraw.

            Houston is majoring in computer programming and computer networking technology at ICC where her honors include the president’s list. She is a member of the Computer Programming and Networking Association. Her parents are James Houston and Carol Houston.

            Hull is a biology major at ICC. Her activities include Indian Delegation, LIN Report (producer), Phi Theta Kappa (vice president of scholarship), Science Club (president), Orientation Leader, tutor at the Student Success Center, Honors in Action committee and the Baptist Student Union. Her honors include president’s and dean’s lists, honors, the John and Beth Cleveland Scholarship recipient, Phi Theta Kappa, freshman homecoming maid, speaker at Junior Preview Day, recipient of the Science Department chemistry award and ACT scholarship. She is the daughter of Steven Hull and Mary Trimm.

            Leigh, whose major is Licensed Practical Nursing, previously earned the associate’s degree from East Mississippi Community College. She is the daughter of Nina Leigh and Roosevelt Leigh Jr.

            Martin is majoring in allied health, nursing at ICC, where he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. His honors include president’s list. He is the son of Misty and Jason Mccaffrey.

            At ICC, Morales is a member of the Indian Delegation, vice president of the Student Government Association, president of the Beta Tau Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and a member of the College’s curriculum committee. Her honors include president’s list, deans’ list and All-Mississippi Academic Team. A psychology major, Morales is the daughter of Jose Morales and Calipso Pimentel.

            Nanney is majoring in English at ICC. Her activities include Phi Theta Kappa, Honors Program, Writing Center tutor, resident assistant, editor of the Chieftain, Film Club, Modern Foreign Language Club and member of the dinner theatre cast (2017). Her honors are PTK vice president of communications, reporter for the Modern Language Club, president’s list, recipient of the Communications division award, theatre department award, Miss ICC and an award winner from the Mississippi Community College Writer’s Association. Her parents are Bobby and Angel Nanney.
