General 0 Itawamba Community College Alumni Association and Indian Club members are invited to attend an Appreciation Night, from 5-8 p.m., Feb. 3, in the Davis Event Center hospitality room on the Itawamba Community College Fulton Campus. Members of both groups will receive free food and admission to the ICC/Northeast basketball games and can visit with ICC coaches, administrators and staff. For those who are not members, there will be an opportunity to join both groups. The event is sponsored by the ICC Alumni Affairs and Foundation office. ICC Heroes Night to honor healthcare professionals and armed forces members, veterans, Sept. 16 Both past and current members of the armed forces and healthcare professionals will be honored during Itawamba Community College’s Heroes Night, Sept. 16, at Lambert Stadium/Eaton Field at the Fulton Campus during ICC’s football game with Coahoma Community College, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Special activities will include a salute during halftime featuring ICC’s All-American Band. Honorary captains will be Lt. Col. Sheldon Morris of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Military Deputy Director at the Center for the Army Profession and Leadership, ICC alumnus and former football player; and Dr. Dick White of Tupelo, who retired last year as chief medical officer of the North Mississippi Medical Center. Admission is free to all past and current armed forces members and healthcare professionals and their families. Join ICC's Alumni Association and for a limited time, receive a free Mississippi custom car license plate Itawamba Community College is offering an opportunity for Mississippi residents, especially its alumni, to share its message through displaying a custom car license plate. For a limited time, residents of the state can join ICC’s Alumni Association for a $20 yearly membership fee, and receive the license plate free of charge, according to Michael Upton, director of Advancement. Incoming ICC Alumni Association President Joey Cox of Fulton has already ordered a tag to support the College. “I am very proud of my association with ICC and enjoyed my time spent here. I look for opportunities to show my ICC pride and think our specialty ICC car tag is a great way to express that pride.” Karen McFerrin of Mantachie, past Alumni Association president and current board member, agrees. “I can’t think of a better way to show support for the college I love than displaying an ICC tag on my car. It’s just a small way of showing my support for a college that means so much to me, and I encourage everyone to support ICC by purchasing ... ICC's Matthew Butler one of eight PTK members nationwide to receive prestigious scholarship Matthew L. Butler of Tupelo, a student at Itawamba Community College, is one of eight Phi Theta Kappa members selected as a 2024 Guistwhite Scholar and will receive a $5,000 scholarship for baccalaureate studies. Butler, who is a biochemistry major, is participating in the Middle College program. He will graduate from both Tupelo High School and ICC in May. His ICC activities include vice president of Scholarship for the Upsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Instructional Support team member, 22-23 Monroe County Representative for the Tupelo Student Government Association, STEM Club president, Exam Cram tutor and member of the Humanities Club. His honors include president’s list and recipient of the PTK Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholarship in 2023. His civic activities include Time for Tupelo, among other local community service events and tutoring. At Tupelo High School, his activities and honors are Science Olympiad, ACT 30+ Club, Poetry Out Load State Finalist and National Rural and Small-Town Recognition program. He plans to transfer to Mississippi State University this fall to continue working toward his degree in biochemistry with a ... ICC Foundation Board adds three new members Three new members have been elected to the board of directors of the Itawamba Community College Foundation, Inc. They include Brad Stevens of Smithville; Lee Tucker of Tupelo; and Liz Weseli of Amory. Stevens serves as Regional Executive Officer/Business Development for Community Bank of Mississippi and current director for its board of directors. His previous positions include division president, executive vice president and senior vice president, all with Community Bank of North Mississippi; and vice president, assistant vice president/loan officer and internal auditor, Security Bank of Amory. Stevens, an honor graduate of Smithville High School, earned the associate’s degree from ICC where he was a member of the Hall of Fame and Student Body president; and the bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. He is also a graduate of both the Louisiana State University and Mississippi State University Schools of Banking. Among Stevens’ current board membership and community involvement are board of directors and finance committee member for ACCESS Family Health Services; board member of the North Mississippi Medical Center Health Care Foundation and Investment Committee; Mississippi Economic Council ...
