• Honors Orientation set for Apr. 18

  Online registration is underway for an Honors Orientation at Itawamba Community College, which will be Apr. 18 for students who score 24 or higher on the ACT.             The free event begins with check-in at 12:30 p.m. in the lobby of the David C. Cole Student Services building on the Fulton Campus.             Honors Orientation will include ice breakers and small group sessions conducted by ICC’s student Orientation Leaders to enable incoming freshmen to become more acclimated with ICC and campus life, according to coordinator Emily Tucker.  In addition, ICC faculty advisers and counselors will meet individually with students to discuss their major and future plans upon graduating from ICC. • ICC schedules multiple orientation sessions beginning Apr. 9

  Itawamba Community College has scheduled orientation sessions for students who plan to enroll for the 2025 summer and fall semesters.                 Recent high school graduates are required to participate in one of the sessions, which are scheduled for Apr. 9 (Honors), June 10, June 11, July 16, all at 1 p.m. at the Fulton Campus; Apr. 25, June 10, June 11 and July 16, all at 8:30 a.m., at the Fulton Campus; and June 12 and July 15, both at 1 p.m. at the Tupelo Campus. Students can attend a session regardless of the location they plan to attend. • April freshman orientation online registration begins

             Online registration has begun for April freshman orientation sessions at Itawamba Community College.             Incoming freshmen with ACT scores of 24 and above are invited to participate in the Apr. 17 honors session, which begins with registration at 12:30 p.m. in the Band Hall at the Fulton Campus. The schedule includes welcome, both parent and student orientations, student advising and ID and shirt pickup.             Additional sessions for all students are scheduled for Apr. 22, 24 and 30 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the same location.             “Among the advantages of attending an April orientation session are scheduling summer and fall classes  early and from a wide variety of options including days, times and instructors and completing the process before graduation from high school,” said Dr. Melissa Haab, dean of enrollment services.            The special parent/guest orientation will cover topics of special interest to enable them to assist their students in the transition to ICC.             ICC orientation is mandatory for all graduating high school seniors. • ICC schedules April adult education orientation session

  Itawamba Community College will enroll new adult education students with a three-day orientation session, Apr. 5-7, at the Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Road).             Each session will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants must have a photo ID, and 16-/17-year-olds should be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring a withdrawal form from the most recent school attended. • ICC sets Apr. 1 deadline for four alumni honors

  Nominations are being accepted through Apr. 1 for Itawamba Community College’s 2023 Alumnus of the Year, Athletic Hall of Fame, ICC Distinguished Service Award and Young Alumnus of the Year. Those selected will be honored during homecoming activities this fall at the Fulton Campus. Criteria for selection for Alumnus of the Year include successful completion of at least one semester as a full-time student at ICC five years prior to the current year as well as merit and achievement which have brought fame and honor to either his/her community or ICC. ICC’s Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes, coaches or individuals who have excelled or made major contributions to intercollegiate athletics while attending or employed by ICC. They must have been out of school at least 10 years. Accomplishments and support of ICC also may be considered. The Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to ICC, is open to an individual, group or organization that has made substantial, outstanding and consistent contribution to the college through tangible or intangible gifts or deeds.
