Thomas joins ICC Alumni Association Board of Directors Frank Thomas of Houston has joined the Itawamba Community College Alumni Association Board of Directors as a representative of Chickasaw County. Thomas attended ICC, then Itawamba Junior College, from 1973-75. During his time at the college, he played football under coach Ben Jones and baseball under coach Curtis Monroe. He later continued his education at Mississippi State University. A longtime Houston businessman, Thomas retired after serving 34 years as managing partner of Nabors Home Center. Thomas has remained actively involved in his community throughout his career. He served four years on the Houston School Board and 16 years as a City of Houston alderman. He also is a past president of both the Houston Touchdown Club and Houston Diamond Club. Thomas is a member and deacon of Parkway Baptist Church in Houston. He and his wife, Shirley, have two sons, Drew and Zane, and are grandparents. As a member of the ICC Alumni Association Board of Directors, Thomas will help strengthen connections among alumni, the college and the communities ICC serves.
