ICC Practical Nursing program sets July 18 commencement ceremony

Several area residents from Itawamba Community College’s Practical Nursing program will participate in a commencement ceremony, July 18, at noon, at the W.O. Benjamin Fine Arts Center at the Fulton Campus.

            Practical Nursing graduates include Jamaiya Fears of Aberdeen; Christina Hernandez, Shana Whitten, both of Blue Mountain; Melissa Clifton of Booneville; Bonner Mendoza, Autumn Webb,  both of Fulton; Terika Naugle of Houlka; Brittany Hayes, Laura Starling, Heather Vanstory, all of Mantachie; Sandy Jones, Laken Robertson, both of Myrtle; Jonathan Morales of Nettleton; Skylar DeLoach, Taylor Mims, both of Pontotoc; Lily Brewer of Ripley; Marquita Brinkley, Jasmina Heard, both of Shannon; Amber Jones, Alliyah Porter, both of Tupelo; Jada Jackson of Vernon, Ala.; Brittany Bowens, Lakeshia Edwards, De’Aisha Strong and De’Oshia Strong, all of West Point.

            Practical Nursing is a one-year (three-semester) program. Upon completion, graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to take the N-CLEX (national board examination) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Dr. Lisa Pearson of Amory is the program director. Instructors include Tammy Jones of Pontotoc, Lisa McNeese of Smithville and Patricia Robbins of Mantachie.
